To perform assembly, refurbishment, subassembly and test functions of electrical and mechanical components and final product to meet quality standards and the production schedule. Provide mentor training to others as needed.
Primary Duties
Perform medium complexity manufacturing tasks, ensuring compliance with quality standards
Supports logistics for production and repair, ensuring timely delivery of materials and efficient operations.
Contribute in inventory levels to optimize stock replenishment and minimize disruptions in production.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Monitor production processes, maintaining quality control and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Operate equipment repair and conditioning for low-complexity product lines
Prepare logistics reports and analyze performance metrics, documenting production data and addressing any issues that arise.
Assists in set-up on all stations and benches as assigned. Checks documentation to assure that the correct data forms are present and contain the correct identifying information - lot#, product name, date, etc.
Performs all production per schedule by processing through the production steps as described by procedures.
Documents all necessary information on the DHR forms. All documentation is to follow Good Documentation Practices.
Assists with maintaining physical separation of lots by using separation and segregation practices and equipment such as yellow caution tape, red security ribbons or other physical barriers.
Cleans and organizes work area before, during and after production runs. This includes cleaning equipment, sweeping floor, organizing containers, discarding scrap raw material and rejected parts, returning unused raw materials and organizing tools and cleaning supplies in their assigned place.
Helps train coworkers in correct processes, procedures and machine operation.
Assists with the end-of-shift or end-of-day shutdown including equipment shut down as necessary.
Helps process product designated as nonconforming according to NCMR instructions.
Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
This role requires High Scholl Diploma, GED or Equivalent including 2+ years manufacturing experience and assembly of electro mechanical parts preferred.

Inspect all parts as they are being used.
Flanges ( the joint between the body and cover ) must be inspected 100% with a .0015 feeler gage. The gage can go no deeper than 1/8 max.
Check for porosity, torn threads, bad paint, missing features etc.
Per instructions from your routings, drawings, lead person or supervisor.
Lubricate all indicated threaded areas.
Remove nonconforming or questionable material to designated areas until a determination can be made.
Communicate any problems your having with the assembly ( i. E., bad parts, equipment, fixtures, tools, drawings or unclear work instructions) to your lead person, supervisor or inspector for corrective action.
Clear your work area and put all consumable parts in their place after completing each work order.
Return special tools, equipment and drawings to where they belong.
Use down time constructively: fill your bins with consumable parts, clean your area and be prepared for your next work order or instructions.

Equivalent to college level coursework in engineering and mathematics, and three years of experience in roadway construction inspection or a related field.
Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) will be required within the first 6 months of employment.

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.
The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.
The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.

Job Description
Precision Component AssemblyTechnicians use small hand tools, power tools and microscopes to inspect, repair and refurbish medical devices, such as flexible endoscopes. As a technician, you will also perform subassembly. This role delivers superior customer experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards, as part of a high performing team.
This role will be based in our Chesterfield, MO Repair Lab, where you will have a dedicated work bench.

*What you will do as a Precision Component AssemblyTechnician (Medical Equipment):
Perform basic to intermediate level repairs of surgical devices and equipment to specifications.
Identify problems and use standardized testing procedures, examine and test mechanisms for defects, replace or repair defective parts.
Troubleshoot, reassemble surgical devices and tests assembly for conformance to specifications.
Identify risks and issues and escalate timely and effectively.
Adhere to Standard Work Instructions (SWI). Become aware of and conform to Company ISO goals and objectives and support ISO requirements.
Complete workplace organization audits and safety observations per site requirements.
Abide by all Company safety, health policies, and procedures. Use personal protective equipment, as required.
Expereince, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
High School diploma or GED
2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 1 year of experience at STERIS; all experience must be verifiable.
Relevant experience may include hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing. Other transferable experience might include small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair/ testing/ re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly/repair, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, construction, and automotive repair.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times.
Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours including evenings and weekends, based on Customer and business needs.
Related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirement.
Preferred:
Experience with solder, brazing or other fine mechanical applications.
Vocational / Technical Degree.
