Mechanical Assembly Qualifications: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Operates various measuring and testing equipment to verify parts are within tolerance or properly assembled. Records various required data on paper travelers or via electronic methods. Perform regular preventative maintenance and cleaning of assigned equipment. Clean and maintain an orderly work area. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Responsible for adhering to the policies, procedures and instructions of the QS 9000 and IS0 14001 systems. Contribute to and ensure safe working conditions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for all hours of their shift. The employee is required to use their hands to use/feel tools, equipment, objects, and controls. Reaching and stretching of the arms is required. The employee will frequently perform tasks requiring repetitive motions and repetitive forceful grasping. The employee is often required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear and speak. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision. Must be able to read and understand English. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Most of the duties are performed in an air-conditioned area. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times - steel toe/non slip shoes, eye protection and earplugs.
