As an Assembler at Anchor Coupling Inc. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc.), you will perform a variety of repetitive processes using varied machines and/or hand tools to complete the assembly and/or sub-assembly of
component parts to achieve a finished coupling assembly. May be assigned to various hand assembly, pressing, plating, brazing, and/or cleaning of component parts. Visually inspect parts as processed. Proceeds on assignments with minimal supervision and/or direction.

Your Challenges:
* Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.

Mix and apply epoxy and /or insulating compounds where specified.

Job Snapshot:
As an Engineering Technician, you will make a difference! The field testing and observations of construction materials you perform each day help ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. You will see construction projects from beginning to end, documenting the successful placement and use of soil, concrete, rebar, asphalt, aggregate, and other building materials. Responsibilities can include:
Technicians I, II, and III:
Reviewing plans and specifications in preparation for field observations on construction sites
Documenting field activities, observations, and testing results on projects
Daily use of Metafield , and/or other field and laboratory information management systems
Calibrating field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards
Perform Special Inspection observations per the International Building Code (IBC)
Communicating daily with management staff, general contractors, and clients
Senior Technician (IV):
Same as above with the addition of the following:
Ability to mentor less experienced construction staff and interns
Ability to train and coach less-experienced construction staff in testing and observation procedures
Coordination and direction of others on projects requiring multiple construction staff
Assisting project manager with plan and specification review for proposal preparation, project assignments, and training
Serve as a Special Inspection agent, based on certifications and local IBC requirements
Assisting project manager with resolutions for deviations from project plans and specifications
Education/Experience Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED
Technician I:
0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
ACI Certifications preferred
Technician II:
2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials, or equivalent experience and an associate degree in a related field
ACI Certifications preferred
Technician III:
3+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials, or equivalent experience and an associate degree in a related field
ACI Certifications required
Additional certifications through ICC, NICET, and/or DOT are preferred. Can vary based on experience
Senior Technician (IV):
5+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials. Oversight and/or mentoring experience of junior staff preferred
ACI Certifications and additional certifications through ICC, NICET, and/or DOT are required. Can vary based on experience
Required Qualifications:
Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
Proficiently complete data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and email
Effective math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
Preferred Certifications:
American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I, International Code Council (ICC) in the areas of construction materials, Post Tensioning Institute (PTI), and/or other certifications depending on the level of experience
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
Walking over rough and uneven terrain
Standing up to 8 hours a day, up to 12 hours on occasion
Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites
Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
Pay rate is based on the level of experience and active certifications.

Fabricate hose assemblies from pick tickets
Understand and communicate customer directions related to product requests; communicate directly with the customer when changes are requested, backorders occur, or future order dates are changed
Pick orders correctly by matching the item and quantity picked to the pick ticket
Package orders for shipping using the appropriate packing material to protect
against damage during delivery; follow instructions & requirements as noted on the pick ticket
Deliver product to production customers, and other customer orders as needed
Assist counter sales associates with pulling orders, and building assemblies for counter customers when needed

Fabricate hose assemblies per hose certification requirements
Restock parts bins from overstock storage
