Definition Under general and/or immediate supervision from higher level engineering staff, performs a variety of journey level technical drafting, office and field engineering work; and provides assistance and information to the public. Position Snapshot/A Day in the Life: The Engineering Technician II performs routine drafting and technical engineering work in support of municipal infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include assisting with engineering design and planning, providing customer service, and performing technical office and field duties related to updating, maintaining, and analyzing the Public Works and Engineering Department's Geographic Information System (GIS) and utility infrastructure data. This position coordinates and conducts research, field data collection, and condition assessments of infrastructure assets, using GIS, database, and information management tools to support capital planning and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Essential Functions Engineering Technician II -This is the full journey level in the Engineering Technician series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Engineering Technician I By the performance of the full range of duties as assigned including the moderately complex duties of drafting, office and field engineering work. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This class is flexibly staffed and is normally filled by advancement from the I level, or when filled from the outside, requires previous work experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Incumbent must have the ability to: Review and process tract maps, parcel maps, of line adjustments, grants of easement, and street right-of-ways for recordation. Verify fulfillment of conditions of approval for new subdivisions; perform on-site inspections to verify survey monuments related to parcel maps and lot line adjustments. Prepare and draft technical engineering plans for construction of streets, alleys, storm drains, water lines, and other public improvements. Provide public assistance at counter and over the telephone. Prepare quantity and cost estimates for engineering projects. Maintain a variety of maps and records including tract maps, parcel maps, lot line adjustments, easements, street and address changes. Review engineering plans to determine appropriate layout of construction projects. Perform on-site inspections to obtain information; determine angles and set grade stakes, hubs, turning points and benchmarks using appropriate surveying techniques; locate and measure boundary lines, right-of-ways, and land grades. Make and check mathematical calculations related to surveying, drafting and basic engineering. Maintain accurate survey records in the form of field notes and sketches. Participate in a variety of engineering design and planning work related to municipal engineering projects. Answer questions and provide information to the public concerning engineering activities. Assist in development and maintenance of the record keeping and filing systems. Prepare, assemble and distribute copies of maps, charts and blueprints. Answer questions and provide information to the public concerning engineering activities. Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer. Position: Electro Assembly Technician Location: Irvine, CA Position Description: DZYNE Technologies is seeking a skilled Electromechanical Assembly Technician to join our team specializing in the manufacturing of advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones). In this hands-on role, you will perform precise assembly of electromechanical systems, including light structural bonding, wiring harness installation, and integration of components for aerospace-grade drone platforms. You will work from detailed drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure high-quality, reliable assemblies that meet strict aerospace standards. A background in composites is highly desirable. Required Skills and Responsibilities: * Assemble electromechanical components and subassemblies for UAV/drone systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, control linkages, and related hardware * Perform light bonding operations using adhesives, resins, and bonding agents for composite-to-composite or composite-to-metal interfaces, following precise surface preparation, mixing, application, and curing procedures * Install and route wiring harnesses, crimp terminals, solder connections, and integrate electrical/electronic systems while adhering to ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols and aerospace wiring standards * Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and assembly sequences to ensure accurate build processes * Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.), and fixtures/jigs to fit, align, and secure parts with close tolerances * Conduct in-process inspections, functional checks, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve assembly issues, ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements * Support composite-related tasks when needed, such as layup preparation, trimming, finishing, or basic bonding of carbon fiber/fiberglass elements * Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all safety, FOD (foreign object debris), and aerospace manufacturing protocols * Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and team members to improve assembly processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. * Document assembly steps, deviations, and test results as required Preferred Skills/Qualifications: * A & P license or military aircraft experience a plus * Background in composite materials fabrication, bonding, or assembly (e.g., carbon fiber, fiberglass, layup, vacuum bagging) * Experience in drone/UAV manufacturing or related high-reliability electromechanical systems * Certifications such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 (wiring), J-STD-001 (soldering), or composite bonding training * Familiarity with aerospace tools, fixtures, and lean manufacturing principles Education/Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Technical/vocational training in assembly, electronics, or related field preferred * 4+ Years relative successful work experience Clearance Level Required: No clearance required Travel: Up to 5% Working Conditions * The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment or warehouse. * Work performed may be in a harsh climate, and often hazardous situations.
