Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Clean and assemble various optical parts, mechanical subassemblies and large assemblies of high complexity.
Requires the use of hand tools to perform a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing, and fitting on assembly units.
Solders onto various parts as required by assembly instructions.
Primes and bonds optical surfaces to other optical or mechanical components.
Reads detailed, complex blueprints, assembly sketches and procedures with very little supervision.
Fits or adjusts parts or assemblies within established guidelines.
Inspects and test finished items or assemblies.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or (GED)
4 years of experience in similar assembly operation. High level of manual dexterity, Knowledge of an ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and knowledge of soldering.
Soldering certification is required
Basic computer navigation skills are required
Experience with optical handling, inspection and gluing are highly desired

Job Summary:
The Assembler will prepare and perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations at unit and module assembly level using blueprints, work instructions, ECO's, deviations, drawings, diagrams, and written processes. In addition, the Assembler will assemble and inspect components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
Assembler works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice and normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
1st shift : Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
Overtime: Ability to work overtime Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed/occasionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Observes all safety regulations including personal protective equipment.
Assemble components to a final configured product utilizing process instructions, engineering documentation (assembly drawings, wire lists, etc.), specialized tooling and fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
Reads and interprets assembly drawings, parts lists, operations sheets and visual aids. Make recommendations for changes to improve build processes.
Perform any rework from test failures in accordance with standard repair procedures. May also incorporate ECN's into completed boards.
Prep and insert electronic components onto circuit boards, hand solder components onto circuit boards, touch up and rework circuit boards.
Verify quality of product at the required intervals and verify accuracy of all work.
May provide training and support to lower-level assemblers as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and assemble mechanical systems per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Test methods (TMs), Protocols or Engineering Requests to support Operations, R&D and Quality Department. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Perform all product processing from preparation of raw materials to manufacturing of finished goods.
* Can operate all production equipment.
* Assembly of mechanical components, assembly of fluidic systems, inspection, packaging, labeling, parts preparation, cleaning, and assembly.
* Operate microscopes and other analytical instruments.
* Maintain proper documentation for quality and compliance with GMP requirements.
* Complete appropriate paperwork necessary for maintaining good records.
* Utilize clean room, laboratory and manufacturing equipment and special tools and fixtures. Complete all training courses and complete some hands-on trainings.
* Complete required document(s) of the product you produce.
* Interface with personnel within manufacturing and other internal departments.
* Adhere to applicable GMP and ISO rules and regulations
* Able to work independently and as well as a team player.
* Perform miscellaneous task as assigned by supervisor.
* Maintain compliance with Quality System procedures and company policies
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
* High School diploma and preferably 2-4 years' experience in medical devices manufacturing.
* Must be familiar with FDA/GMP regulations.
* Able to read and write English language, work instructions and technical drawings (including schematics), specifications and forms.
* Must be able to use lab equipment and basic hand tools such as microscope, oven, DI water system, sealer, screwdriver, and wrench.
* Must be proficient in using production equipment and computers in the cleanroom.
* Must have the ability to confidently navigate thru QCBD and have an understanding to use QAD Software Systems
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
* Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
* Must be able to safely move up to 25 lbs
* The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
* Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
* Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
* The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Compensation:
We pay competitively. Base hourly rate range is $22.00 - $24.00.

Job Description
Daily tasks include:
· Assembly
· Stock Shelves/warehouse
· Metal fabrication

· Run various other equipment
· Shipping/Receiving activities as necessary
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· No previous experience required on the equipment.
· Must be able to read, speak and understand English at a fluent level.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Must have the ability to read engineering drawings and bill of materials.
· Must be able to work in our manufacturing plant located in Oceanside, CA.
· Must have excellent attendance.
· May be required to work overtime (as needed)
· Must be able to operate a computerized panel saw, hydraulic molding press and other various equipment.
· Must be able to operate a forklift and/or truck motor.
· Ability to use hand and power tools such as table saw, circular saw, pneumatic nail and staple gun.
· Strong math, measurements and calculations knowledge; including the ability to read a measuring tape in 1/16” increments
· Must be able to pass our pre-employment drug testing.
· Prior forklift experience a plus, but will provided training.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING REQUIRED
Physical requirements:
· Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, grabbing, pulling, carrying, and twisting
· Moderate to heavy physical activity such as walking and lifting is required on a daily basis (up to 70 lbs.)
Hours and Pay:
· This is a first shift position - hours are 6:30am to 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Must have the ability to work overtime as needed. Starting rate is up to $20/hr.

Travel: Up to 25% travel anticipated, for 1-2 week durations, to CONUS and OCONUS locations including: Philadelphia, PA, Beloit, WI, Detroit, MI, Peoria, IL, Washington DC, Norfolk, VA, Mayport, FL, San Diego, CA, Everett, WA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Bahrain, Sasebo, Japan, Yokosuka, Japan, Singapore, and various Naval facilities and ship new construction yard facilities.
Typical Physical Activity: Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.
Typical Pay Range: The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $36.72 - $43.20/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.
Eligibility for a SECRET Security Clearance is Required: This position requires eligibility for a Secret security clearance, to be obtained after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least ten (10) years of recent, relevant hands-on experience in the area of diesel propulsion and power generating systems.
Four (4) years of experience with US Navy diesel engine applications, specifically FM-Pielstick, FMOP, Caterpillar, MTU and/or Isotta Fraschini.
Three (3) years of experience supporting the US Navy DRS Program. To include experience with the following:
Shipboard Automated Maintenance Manager (SAMM)
Conducting DOCTOR diesel engine performance analyses (DEPA)
Reviewing DOCTOR combustion analysis data and providing technical recommendations to correct out-of-parameter conditions.
Ability to communicate effectively.
