Position Description:
Perform sub assembly and final assembly processes on a variety of mechanical assemblies. Will use calibrated equipment and machinery, engineering and simple drawings, schematics, as well as written and verbal instructions to perform assembly and mechanical functions. Essential Functions:
· Utilize hand tools, power tools and hardware to assemble standard and engineered products to customer specifications and quality standards with the aid of supervision or trainers.
· Apply acquired trade skills to complete assembly process.
· Perform job set-up by obtaining necessary/required parts, drawings, and schematics. Check for correctness of parts by referencing the bill of material. Read and interpret drawings and schematics.
· Communicate with engineers, designers, and technicians to resolve assembly discrepancies.
· Perform ongoing inspection of product during assembly process and prior to product's shipment.
· Lift and position assemblies. Operate Forklift for material and product movement.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
· Set-up and perform Assembly Department operations with minimum supervision.
· Familiar with mechanical components.
· Thorough understanding of part prints (tolerances, symbols, etc.).
· Perform checks for quality of parts and adjust as required.

MFI Training Requirements:
· Applicable training will be completed by following the Assembly Training Matrix (F4400-35). The effectiveness of assembly training guidelines will be determined by employee knowledge and demonstration of learned concepts. Additional training after the first several weeks of on-the-job training will be determined by the Supervisor in preparation to operate on their own as needed. Any follow-up training will be evaluated and provided at the 60-day review or as deemed necessary for the position.
