Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate and perform maintenance on vacuum systems, vacuum web coating systems, slot die coating systems, slurry mixing systems, and web converting systems.
Primary responsibilities include
Operation of vacuum chambers, slot die coating systems, slurry mixing systems, and web converting systems
Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintaining inventory levels
Coordinating efforts with members of other departments to deliver test samples
Review results in consultation with team members, coordinate with engineers and technicians to implement process improvements.
Other duties as required
Qualifications
High School Degree or GED required. Associate's degree in chemistry or related field a plus
At least three (3) years' work experience in the following field: web converting, web coating, and/or liquid-solid mixing
Ability to interpret chemical analysis and characterizations of materials and coatings and use that information to formulate process improvements
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to people with varying degrees of technical understanding

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the employee will be required to regularly use a PC, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, lift objects, speak, hear, and write. The employee may need to work in a dry room (~-60 °C Dew Point) for 6 or more hours a day at times. The employee may be required to handle and transport packaged chemicals. Working with potentially hazardous and/or toxic chemicals, with appropriate protective clothing and apparatus, though infrequent, is required. The employee should be able to lift and move 25 pounds and could be called upon to lift or move up to 50 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The candidate will be immersed in a fast-paced environment. This person must be able to adapt quickly, meet deadlines and goals, and interface with all levels of employees both internal and external to the company. What are the primary responsibilities in the Assembly Technician position?
Assemble complex electronic hardware products including installation of electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive circuit card assemblies inside various enclosure and chassis types
Communicate regularly with engineering and management regarding problems impacting assembly
Create and update assembly instructions
What required background will make you successful?
Minimum 1 year of experience in a production environment building electro-mechanical assemblies using cable and wire harnesses, including soldering & crimping
Experience using digital multi-meters (DMM)
Ability to read schematics & drawings, follow technical assembly instructions, and interpret engineering blueprints
Basic computer skills such as emailing, record keeping, and data entry for ordering & inventory transactions
HS Diploma and Associates Degree (or equivalent 2 years of post-high school relevant work experience)
US Citizenship
Preferred skills:
3+ years of experience in a production environment building electro-mechanical assemblies using cable and wire harnesses, including soldering & crimping
Experience supporting continuous improvement projects to impact production safety, quality, delivery lead times, and/or cost
Basic understanding of electrical components (ex: resistor, capacitor, diode, integrated circuit)

What You Will Do:
Fabricate, maintain, modify, and repair complex prototype electrical assemblies.
Rely on extensive experience to interpret drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes, and specifications.
Leads other technicians in the layout and fitment of electrical, electro-optical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical assemblies.
Adapts and applies advanced methods and procedures to test, analyze, and troubleshoot new hardware.
Leads in electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to validate engineering design specifications in development of producible prototypes.
Assess complex designs to ensure producibility, maintainability, safety, and reliability.
Communicate build concerns to customers and collaborate on design improvements.
Perform other task related duties as required.
Participates in area organization and continuous Improvement activities.
Co-developing electronic, electro-optical, electro-mechanical and mechanical assemblies
Attending electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to provide critical input to translate engineering design specifications into producible prototypes
Assessing designs, ensuring producibility, maintainability, safety and reliability.
Qualifications You Must Have:
High school, secondary school, or equivalent with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an engineering environment.
Eight (8) or more years of experience testing and fabricating electrical assemblies in two or more of the following areas: cables, cables or wire harnesses, breakout boxes, or chassis, circuit card modifications, racked electronic equipment, and troubleshooting of systems in an integration environment.
Previous work experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
The ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance is required.. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
