This individual will serve as a focal point in managing new display technology development and drive the implementation of critical technology platforms to improve display performance, from design conception to hardware and experience prototyping, and to final products. Responsibilities
Define display architecture, requirements along with actionable test/qualification plans
Develop simulation models and hardware test vehicles
Drive module qualification including issue failure analysis and corrective action
Collaborate with system team to drive module specification and convergence
Host regular supplier meetings to drive engineering activities to meet project milestones and convergence on any open issues
Investigate new display technologies, perform detail tradeoff studies, and generate new approaches to further enhance display performance
Minimum Qualifications
Masters and a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
Proficiency in optical design and simulation software for illumination (e.g., LightTools, Zemax OpticStudio Non‑Sequential, Speos)
Proficiency with a data analysis and scripting language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, JMP) for modeling, simulation, and test automation
Hands‑on experience with lab equipment for optical characterization (e.g., spectrometers, imaging colorimeters, goniophotometers)
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in a related field
Expertise in light source technology (eg mini‑LEDs, micro‑LEDs)
Experience developing and implementing comprehensive test plans for optical system
Familiarity with color science, color calibration, and display/lighting metrology standards
Experience taking a hardware product from concept through to mass production
Experience in building compelling hardware or experience prototypes
Strong presentation and communication skills

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

How You'll Contribute:
The Fabrication Technician (FT) is a position responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects primarily in our shop build environments. This position is primarily a shop position preparing for the actual work that gets done in our clients' buildings. Some onsite work may be required on occasion. They need to coordinate with project management, and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create portions of the finished systems. This shop work can include any related AV technology and cabling.
What You'll Do:
* Physical installation of a wide variety of technology into a wide variety of locations
* Accurately cut cables for bench fabrication to assigned lengths. Sort and flag cut cables for rack lacing and/or shipment to project sites as directed.
* Prepare and label cables for fabrication both by hand as well as by use of automated striping machines per Diversified standards.
* Execute and test cable terminations for all Broadcast, Network and A/V connectors.
* Ability to read and understand cable wire lists as well as project drawings and documentation for cable fabrication.
* Prepping and packing of racks for shipment to job sites
* Preparation of equipment racks for staging of equipment, wire lacing including installation of power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.
* Mount equipment into racks, terminate all wiring and connections to equipment as per the technical drawings.
* Able to read and understand functional design drawings as well as equipment rack diagrams.
* Provide a consistent level of technical performance as well as flexibility in work schedule. This position requires periodic overtime and may require regular overtime for extended periods to meet fabrication deadlines.
* Able to build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
* Fiber optic cable handling, installation termination and testing
* Maintain relationships with CAD and Engineering and provide feedback for efficiencies as encountered during fabrication.
* Aid and guide to other fabrication staff to interpret drawings and enhance builds.
* Maintain an organized work environment specifically orderliness and cleanliness of the shop and jobsites. Responsible for maintaining tools and test equipment, materials inventories and keeping things clean, orderly, and well documented.

Complexity:
This level of technician will be responsible for performing tasks in shop with little to no supervision. The ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal staff is very important.
Decision Making Authority:
This position will work completely independently and will escalate decisions when needed. In general, the project manager, design engineers and a shop supervisor are available to answer questions and provide the needed direction on issues escalated.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee may be exposed to construction site conditions on a regular basis. Employee will be
responsible for their safety while on job sites and to comply with all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usually required on job sites. Travel:

Local travel to job sites (within a 2-hour driving distance each way) will make up 70-90% usually but remote travel can be up to 20% of the job at times.

Job Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain our robot fleet involving complex mechanical assemblies and actuators, small gauge cable assemblies, and fine pitch SMT PCBs.
• Bring up and troubleshoot robots using Linux and proprietary software tools.
• Use CNC machines, 3d printers, and other machine tools to fabricate and rework components.
• Track, maintain, and socialize robot fleet health using tools such as Jira.
• Create work instructions and assembly processes to streamline assembly and bring-up workflows.
• Use CAD tools to develop assembly fixtures and understand design intent.
• Propose system and process improvements, and prepare reports, documentation, and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Order, organize, and maintain inventory of materials, supplies, and tools.
Required Experience:
• 5 years of proven technical skills and hands-on experience with robots or related fields.
• Experience building cable assemblies involving small gauge crimps and coaxial connectors.
• Experience reworking PCBs including fine pitch SMT.
• Experience fabricating parts including using CNC machines and 3d printers.
• Proficiency in using CAD software and other engineering tools.
