Assembly / System Test TechnicianHourly position responsible for Assembly and System test of Line Cards and Products for Infinera New Product Introduction (NPI) located in Allentown, PAEssential Functions / Key Responsibilities

Dynetics Technical Solutions (DTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dynetics, is seeking a talented Assembly, Integration, and Test Technicians to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics Technical Solutions provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

Responsible for performing mechanical assembly of components into large missile defense systems and rocket interface structures per DoD, and industry standards. Performs fit-up and hand drilling using jigs and templates. Installs fasteners including bolts, screws, and solid and expandable rivets. Applies touch-up and stencil paint using hand-held spraying equipment. Measures parts and assemblies using standard measuring equipment including scales, tape measures, and calipers. Works both as a team member and independently as required.

Assists in the development and maintenance of internal materials and process specifications through a working knowledge of industry standards and a wide range of assembly, integration, test, and manufacturing trends. Assists in the implementation of assembly and integration process development and production transition planning that meets quality, production rate, startup time, and margin requirements. Must apply knowledge of product design, assembly, and tooling, process of materials while working to develop or improve manufacturing processes. Complete all planning paperwork throughout the production process. Ensures department production schedules are adhered to. Performs in-process and final product inspections and signs off appropriate quality documents as required. Suggests and performs engineering tool and product modifications as directed by engineering/management.

Ensures that proper documentation is made on training record for training received, and signed by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager Helps monitor inventories and supplies and ensures correct usage Understand process and quality procedures and communicate them to less experienced team members Communicate with supervisors, managers and quality about issues effecting quality of productivity. Assists in the development of bills of material and labor cost estimates for proposals and budgeting. Basic Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Three years of prior experience in assembling and integration of large structures for DoD or aerospace is required.

Must be to lift and carries up to 35 lbs.

Reads and interprets drawings, specifications and work instructions.

Must be adept with hand tools including drills, grinders, wrenches and screwdrivers, impact rivet guns, rivet puller.

Must be capable of reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and work instructions.

Other Qualifications

Good communication skills and the ability to train others in aerospace structural assembly techniques is desired.

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform work duties provided by immediate Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
  • Clean, assemble and test various valves and filters following written procedures and other appropriate documentation.
  • Interpret assembly setup requirements from written procedures and successfully complete assembly.
  • Interpret test system schematics and successfully construct test system by obtaining correct system components and fabrication of stainless steel tubing, including cutting, bending and flaring.
  • Interpret test setup requirements from written procedures and successfully test component.
  • Perform testing using gases (Nitrogen and helium) and water.
  • Perform testing at ambient temperatures as well as extreme cold and hot temperatures during thermal testing.
  • Read and interpret test data, and record neatly and accurately on appropriate data sheets. Recognize and report any out-of-family conditions or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Maintain assembly and test setups in good working order.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The technician must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar work environment.
  • Must be able to setup and operate tools required for assembly including, but not limited to: standard hand tools, load testing devices, micrometers, depth mics, calipers and microscopes.
  • Technician must possess basic blueprint reading and comprehension skills.
  • Must be able to setup and operate equipment required for testing including, but not limited to; multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, pressure, gauges and transducers, data recorders, load cells, and flowmeters.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills required to calculate simple formulas and conversions. Strong reasoning ability a must.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) year similar job experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment or a combination of education and work experience.
