Takes appropriate action by adjusting appointment times, location, or dates, as well as, shifting patients (working closely to community providers to reschedule appointments) to other healthcare providers as conflicts occurs. Supports patient safety standards using the correct VA identification of all patients using two forms of identification, name and full Social Security number. When assisting the MSA staff in the CMC front office or initial contact when opting in and scheduling, must use each interaction with the patient to validate and update patient demographic information over the phone, to decrease an incidence of returned mail due to incorrect addresses and inability to contact patient by phone due to incorrect phone number.
