Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director, Recruitment, assists the MBA admissions program and supports other administrator staff in the planning, development, and implementation of recruitment initiatives, focusing on enrolling a high-quality, diverse student body that enhances the reputation of Columbia Business School.

Responsibilities

Coordinates recruitment and yield initiatives and events across all degree and special programs using Technolutions Slate templates, communications, forms, events, queries, etc., and supports Slate system and its office use more broadly. Serves as a member of the Admission Committee. Evaluates and recommends applicants. Duties may include reading and evaluating applications and conducting interviews. Organizes recruitment details for on-campus visits and events, and virtual events, as well as off-campus domestic and international events. Executes duties as assigned by travel invitations projects subcommittee (TIPS) for event planning. Promotes and markets the degree programs. Gains a thorough understanding of our MBA and EMBA programs in addition to all special programs at the School. Coordinates and delivers on and off-campus presentations, hosts receptions, and participates in other general recruitment activities as determined by their supervisor. Plans and executes recruitment events for diverse populations including, but not limited to, under-represented minorities, LGBTQ, female, and military prospective students.Supports the back-end processing of Consortium applications. Cultivates and maintains relationships with current students, alumni, faculty, and administrators and solicits their participation in various events. Performs other relevant duties as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required. A minimum of 2-4 years related experience required.

Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication and computer skills required (proficiency with MS Office Suite). Ability to travel (domestic and international) and work evenings and weekends required. Candidate must possess strong skills in diplomacy, tact, and discretion.The ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and multiple responsibilities is an asset.

Essential Functions:


Assists with coordinating diverse prospective student and applicant recruitment efforts, including relationship development with target and regional schools and individual student outreach. Modest regional travel is anticipated. Works with the Law Ambassador student volunteer program to facilitate current student engagement with prospective applicants. Collaborates with Law Communications to feature stories of diverse students, alumni, faculty, and staff; to create a pre-law advisor newsletter three (3) times each year; and to assist in updating content for social media platforms and the law school website. Coordinates student and alumni outreach and matching for admitted students. Facilitates alumni engagement with current students. Provides support for and counsel to students from underrepresented communities/marginalized backgrounds, as well as to identity-based affinity groups, to promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment within the law school. Assists law student affairs in the planning, design, marketing, execution and assessment of programs, events, and cultural celebrations. Collaborates and partners with University-wide offices/committees (UCICC, OIE, etc.) as well as with the law school DEI committee, to enhance support of law students and bring awareness to available resources. Other related duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Juris Doctor preferred. Equivalent of 1-3 years of experience in a collegiate setting or admissions function, preferably in a professional environment working with people from historically underrepresented populations. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of issues and best practices related to diversity, inclusion, belonging, social justice, equity and intersectionality. Excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Travel, evening, and weekend hours are required.


Work Schedule
: M-F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with occasional night and weekend hours required.


Minimum Pay:
$52,000 Pay Commensurate with Experience

The Office of International Education and Services (IES) at Southeast Missouri State University is housed in the International Village on the Southeast campus. IES contributes to comprehensive internationalization efforts through oversight of an Intensive English Program (IEP), study abroad, and international student recruitment, admissions, and services for approximately 1,000 international students. The Assistant Director for International Admissions reports to the IES executive director. This person plays a critical role in internationalization efforts at Southeast through their oversight and management of the international admission process, which is where most of our international population have their first significant interactions with the University. We seek a dynamic, ethical, motivated professional with excellent customer-service skills, a passion for learning, and a desire to help international students achieve their academic goals to lead this important division.

* Manage the international admissions process, which includes monitoring and evaluating how applications are submitted and processed, implementing changes to optimize efficiencies, and evaluating policies relating to international admissions
* Process, evaluate, and review international applications and credentials for admissions, and make admission decisions for undergraduate and Intensive English Program (IEP) applicants
