An assistant executive director provides confidential and high-level support to the office of the Chief Executive Officer(CEO). As an assistant executive director, your duties range from administrative, clerical, etc. Your role primarily is to provide support to the CEO. You are the first point of connection for internal and external affairs related to the CEO.
It is also part of your duties to manage the CEO's schedule as they have a very busy schedule and heavy workloads. This ensures that he/she is adequately prepared for meetings. CEOs travel frequently, so it is your responsibility to arrange logistics and travel, including flight booking, hotel accommodations, etc. Your clerical tasks could include faxing, photocopying, filing, answering phones, etc.
The educational requirement for this role is to have at least a bachelor's degree in business, communication, or related fields. Being in this position entails that you have discretion and diplomacy, as this office is often privy to exclusive information. Averagely, you should earn $40,000 annually.
