Summary The Control Technician performs a variety of maintenance, modification, and repair activities in controls of all building equipment and material handling systems in the distribution centers. This includes troubleshooting and repairing AC & DC circuits, photo eye sensors, encoders, programmable logic controllers, and bar code readers. RESPONSIBILITIES As an EOD Tech, youll receive extensive training to perform missions neutralizing explosive weapons in almost every environment. Your duties may require you to: Detonate and demolish hazardous munitions, pyrotechnics, and outdated explosives. Neutralize various ordnance, including sea mines, torpedoes or depth charges. Work with cutting-edge technology to remotely disable unsafe ordnance. Perform parachute or helicopter insertion operations. Support law enforcement agencies. Diver Training (9 weeks) Next comes dive school at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center (NDSTC) in Panama City, FL. EOD School (56 weeks) After successfully completing dive school, candidates transfer to Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal School at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Candidates will train in demolition operations, rendering safe bombs, missiles, landmines, defusing Improvise Explosive Devices (IEDs), protecting and detecting against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) weapons and mastering skills needed to defeat underwater ordnance such as sea mines and torpedoes. Basic Parachute Training (3 weeks) After completing basic EOD school, graduates attend Basic Airborne Training (jump school) at Fort Benning, GA, where they qualify as basic parachutists. EOD Tactical Training (3 weeks) The final phase of training is in San Diego, CA. It teaches helicopter insertion (fast-rope, rappel, cast and special patrol insertion, and extraction rigging), small arms/weapons training, small unit tactics (weapons, self-defense, land navigation and patrolling) and tactical communications (satellite and high frequency). Upon successful completion of the EOD training pipeline, graduates are assigned to EOD Mobile Units where they gain advanced on-the-job training and experience as members of EOD Platoons..     The building controls technician is responsible for safe and efficient operations and maintenance of the controls equipment that affects the HVAC systems, boilers, and other related equipment. The BCT is responsible for the operation of the Building Automation System (BAS) and maintains all equipment in proper operating condition. The BCT responds to alarms related to the Building Automation System and makes decisions as well as corrective actions. The BCT performs preventive/predictive maintenance on the facilities support systems. This position will support all Adena Health facilities that are on HVAC controls. This position does not have direct patient contact. The BCT will work collabroatively with stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. The BCT active works with all members of facility operations on technical support and training on all building management systems equipment. Minimum Qualifications Required Educational Degree: HS Diploma or GED Major/Area of Concentration: Associated technical school training or additional maintenance training desirable Preferred Education: Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Tridium (within one year of hire), maintaining all Tridium education and updates annually Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: High Pressure Boiler Operator License Required Experience:HVAC Controls Preferred Experience:Boiler Operator Job Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Due to the critical/life safety nature and responsibilities of this role, a personal smart phone is required for use during work or after hours/on-call. Job Specific Essential Functions Provide technical support and guidance to other team members during complex troubleshooting scenarios or system integrations. Train and mentor facility operations team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in building control operations equipment. Develop and implement complex controls strategies to optimize system performance, energy efficiency, and occupancy comfort. Conduct extensive system inspections and preventative maintenance activities to identify potential issues and ensure reliable operations. Troubleshoot and diagnose advanced system malfunctions or failures using specialized diagnostic tools, software, and protocols. Actively keeps parts and supplies at inventoried levels to ensure efficient service response as well as economical operations within the budget Perform in-depth analysis of system data and trends to identify opportunities for optimization and energy savings. Knowledgeable on boiler and building control systems, routinely performs quality control/assurance activities and strives to improve system process Manage projects as assigned, provide coverage for building control operators as requested. Stay updated with the latest industry advancements, technologies, and best practices related to all building control operations equipment Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction Maintain compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout all installation and maintenance activities
