Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include leading and managing an accounting staff, reviewing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports in the Operational Accounting Team. Specific responsibilities include the following.
Responsible for period-end close process, the general ledger, and monthly account reconciliations.Drive the month-end / year-end close process.Prepare and/or approve month-end journal entries and assess reasonableness of information.Ensures Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) compliance as it relates to controls and segregation of duties for function.Assist with internal audits and year-end external audits.Prepare analyses of various balance sheet and income statement line items including financial controls.Prepare and/or approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis.Identify and resolve significant variances.Support divisions, departments and Business Planning and Analysis team with GL research.Enforce corporate policies and GAAP.Prepare documentation of accounting processes as required.Ensure that GL accounts are being utilized in accordance with corporate policy and GAAP.Become a subject matter expert on the GL system and assigned close processes.Train, mentor and supervise assigned Accounting Team.Ability to work flexible hours in support of period end close and semi-annual inventory and branch audit.
