We are looking for dynamic, adventurous new team members who love wine and people to join an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and productive team as a Tasting Room Associate.
We are seeking Tasting Room Associates for our winery and tasting room located in Hood River, Oregon and our two additional premiere tasting rooms in Dundee and Carlton, Oregon.
The Associate is responsible for providing our wine club members and guests impeccable customer service while developing relationships that promote sales and brand loyalty.
The Associate will share our wine while providing an education of our history, region, vineyards, and winemaking style.
Your sales expertise will be applied to sell glasses and bottles of wine and memberships to our Wine Club in person and on the phone.
Associates will use a point-of-sale and reservation system; answer and make customer phone calls to provide or collect information; stock, clean, and provide support for events.
Job Title: Tasting Room Associate
Job Type: Part-time
Compensation: Hourly starting @ $18-$20 hour + tips + Wine Club sales commissions.
Hours: 10 am-6 pm; 20-35 hours per week including weekends, holidays, and limited evenings.
Essential Job Functions:
*Greet all visitors with enthusiasm.
*Pour wines for one of five tasting experiences to create a memorable experience for all guests.
*Sell wine and wine club memberships based on weekly/monthly goals.
*Describe wines and the history of Cathedral Ridge Winery.
*Answer visitor’s questions about wines, properties, brand, and history.
*Provide general tourist information.
*Generate revenue through inbound and outbound phone sales.
*Handle routine sales transactions via POS system.
*Assist with display and stocking of wines and retail items.
*Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of facilities.
*Assist with special events as needed.
*Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of various local wineries and their wines.
*Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications & Required Skills:
*Wine related experience helpful, and knowledge of wine and wine production preferable.
*Past sales experience in a one-to-one setting with phone sales a plus.
*Excellent verbal communication skills.
*Excellent presentation skills.
*Strong organization, problem-solving and analytical skills.
*Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
