What You'll do
The purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to oversee various responsibilities, including inventory management, associate leadership, and customer engagement. Help drive company initiatives, such as the customer engagement model, RK Visa Card, RK Plus Protection Plan (RKPPP), etc.
Supervise the appropriate procedures for disposing of firearms in all gun transactions when designated.
May be required to conduct regular audits to assess compliance in areas such as sales transactions, cash handling, inventory management, firearm audits and security protocols.
May be required to analyze shrinkage data, identify trends, and implement measures to minimize loss and improve operational efficiency.
Demonstrate the autonomy, independent judgment, and discretion in leading the team to achieve or exceed the goals and strategies of the store.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments and responsibilities.

Responsibilities
As a Assistant Department Manager in the BNC Starbucks Licensee Cafe you will support all store operations and departments in partnership with the management team. You will manage daily activities of the cafe by leading and training team members to service our customers; ensure the availability, freshness, and quality of products; and drive sales and promotions. You must be knowledgeable about cafe and store operations, provide outstanding customer service; enforce safe food handling and loss prevention practices; and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the cafe.
Expectations:
Spend the majority of your time in the cafe preparing food/drinks, modeling exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, recommending products and providing daily support, direction, and guidance to team members.
Assign work and provide focused direction to café team members to ensure the set up and restocking of displays, wrapping, labeling, dating, and rotating food items for sale is executed daily.

What You'll Do
Lead a Winning Team on Your Shift
* Set the tone with a cheerful, can-do attitude that motivates your team
* Provide clear direction and step in to assist with food service, stocking, cleaning, or cash handling
* Coach team members in real-time, offering guidance and support during every shift
* Address guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating when necessary
Drive Operational Excellence
* Train and guide your team to meet RaceTrac's guest service, food safety, and cleanliness standards
* Ensure proper execution of inventory, vendor check-in, and promotional communication
* Oversee key store processes including write-offs, cash wrap, and compliance documentation
* Lead shift change communication and ensure team alignment throughout the day
Model Communication & Accountability
* Effectively relay important updates from the leadership team to shift associates
* Monitor task completion and provide immediate feedback to drive results
* Support a team culture rooted in accountability, respect, and teamwork
* Proactively step in during busy times or challenges-showing your team what great leadership looks like
What We're Looking For
* 2-3 years of work experience (retail, restaurant, or food service preferred)
* 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
* Comfort in fast-paced, high-volume, guest-focused environments
* Ability to follow through on tasks and coach others to do the same
* Strong communication and team building skills
Must Haves for this Role
* High School Diploma or GED (in progress or completed)
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks without frequent breaks
* Willingness to obtain and maintain required permits (food handlers, alcohol server, etc.)
