Terminal degree Doctorate required (or Doctorate in progress). National certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner required. Louisiana license as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and a minimum of two years clinical nurse practitioner experience required. Two (2) years of nurse educator experience; three (3) or more preferred. Must be able to pass a background check and shall meet the required standards defined by the University.
Duties and responsibilities: Description (% Effort) Teaching Duties (35%):
* Provide instruction in areas of expertise.
* Teach undergraduate (if assigned) and graduate nursing courses in a manner that promotes academic excellence to the fullest extent.
* Evaluate students and report their progress.
* Utilize a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to domain of learning.
* Serve as a role model to students and peers.
* Assist with development. evaluation and revision of curriculum, and policies and procedures within the College of Nursing.
* Maintain required office hours.
* Maintain good attendance. Supervise and evaluate student learning experiences.
* Teach across programs as needed Maintains Clinical practice as an advanced practice nurse and participates in student clinical learning/practice with affiliated agencies.
Student Engagement {Advising and Recruiting) (20%):
* Serve as an advisor and mentor for students in the College of Nursing.
* Recruit students to all programs within the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health.
* Advises students interested in the program and those currently in the program regarding the curriculum and APDG requirements.
Administrative Duties (15%)
* Attend College of Nursing and/or University functions and committee meetings as assigned.
* Maintain records and files related to undergraduate and graduate nursing courses.
* Maintain weekly office hours and advise students during required office hours or at other times and settings established by the Dean, Senior Director of Nursing, or Program Director. Demonstrate knowledge of the College of Nursing goals and objectives.
* Assist with maintenance of records and files pertinent to the College of Nursing.
* Maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal laws and program policy.
* Serve as a Liaison between the College of Nursing and other University departments as well as local, state, and national agencies and professional organizations.
* Comply with guidelines/regulations of the University, state of Louisiana, SACSCOC, LSBN, CCNE, NONPF and/or other agencies as required.
Scholarly Activities and Professional Development (10%):
* Actively participates in scholarly activities and other creative activities, such as, scholarly research; writing books, book chapters, and/or articles; practice; podium or poster presentations; etc.
* Maintain appropriate expertise and competencies through continuing professional education, and development and pursuit of scholarly activities.
Service (10%):
* Recruit students to all programs within the College of Nursing and School of Allied Health.
* Serve on college-wide committees and state level committees and boards on behalf of the NSU CON when selected by the Dean or designee.
* Serve as an advisor and mentor for students in the College of Nursing
* Represent the College of Nursing and University in a professional manner.
* Participate in activities that promote the College of Nursing, including those that may occur in the evenings, out of town and on the weekend.
Concentration Coordination (5%):
* Assist the Department Head, School Director, and Dean with all aspects of the program coordinator/direction by providing oversight as directed.
* Review program concentration curriculum and courses to ensure program is congruent with national certification and accreditation standards.
* Oversee clinical sites and preceptors within the program concentration to ensure consistency with the population focused knowledge and that the sites and preceptors provide opportunities for students to learn and perform necessary skills. Preside, administer, and assist faculty in grading clinical comprehensive examinations.
* Ensure that students hold and maintain a current. unencumbered registered nurse (RN} licensure, malpractice coverage, and adhere to course and program requirements.
* Lead/Attend program orientation at the beginning of each cohort.
* Ensure clinical preceptors hold current, unencumbered professional licensure and other requirements for a clinical preceptor as set forth by the program, National Task Force (NTF), and CCNE accreditation guidelines.
* Support clinical students and address any student issues or needs as they arise.
* Communicate with students after graduation for pertinent survey data.
* The role of the coordinator includes a salary stipend included with letter of appointment. If this coordinator duty ends at any point, a Change of Status with salary adjustment excluding the amount for Coordinator Duties will be completed.

Job Description
This adjunct position will teach courses for the Communication Studies
Program and/or mentor concurrent enrollment instructors in the College Now program. Applicants may indicate a preference for one or both opportunities.
This position may teach the basic oral communication course, COMM 110 Essentials of Public Presentations in a variety of delivery formats (face-to-face, online, etc.).
This position may mentor concurrent enrollment instructors in the College Now dual credit program in the delivery of the COMM 110 Essentials of Public Presentations Course.
Instructors must follow programmatic standards in courses they teach and/or mentor and work from a common curriculum developed by the program.
Instructors should be available to students and mentees outside of class time.
Minimum Qualifications
