The part-time faculty (instructor) shall perform duties and responsibilities in collaboration with the Program Chair, Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Preceptors. The faculty (instructor) shall perform duties in compliance and adhere to JRCERT accreditation standards. Other responsibilities include participation in assessing student learning outcomes; developing, revising, and implementing curriculum; maintaining current knowledge and skills in the area of assignment; building collaborative relationships within the BC community and the radiation oncology community at large; demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and fostering a positive, caring learning environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a part-time adjunct faculty in the Radiation Therapy Program, the individual is responsible for teaching, observing, and evaluating in didactic and/or clinical settings.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Adjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
Quarterly remuneration for 5-credit lecture class is $6,418.75- $ 7,824.65
Compensation is prorated based on type and duration of assignments.
Individuals newly hired to Adjunct Professor group at the college are placed at the minimum rate per union bargaining agreement. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.
Generous benefits package for eligible employees is offered through Washington State plans that includes multiple medical, dental, life and disability coverage choices for employees and dependents; choices of retirement and deferred compensation plans; paid personal leave plan; transit program, reduced tuition, employee discounts and memberships, etc. Eligible employees are faculty who work a combined load of at least 50% at Bellevue College and other Washington State public institutions of higher education for two consecutive quarters are eligible for health and dental insurance at the start of the second consecutive quarter.
In addition to teaching, faculty maintains office hours and may participate in department and college activities. This position is represented by the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE) union.

About the Department
The Radiation Therapy program at Bellevue College (BC) offers personalized and intensive instruction to form a solid foundation for a rewarding career in this field. Bellevue College has the only Radiation Therapy program in Washington State and is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program is comprised of faculty and staff who oversee didactic and clinical instruction which is aligned with a professional curriculum published by associated Radiation Therapy professional societies. Once a student graduates from the program, they will be eligible to take the national certification board exam and apply for a health care license to practice.
Essential Functions
Promote teaching and learning in radiation therapy and clinical setting.
Complete student learning outcomes assessment and provide students with timely written and verbal feedback.
May participate in curriculum revisions with the integration of the latest research aimed at continuous improvement and new course development.
Utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies and innovative techniques including the integration of technology and the latest research to assist students in the achievement of learning outcomes and assessment of learning.
Participate in work with the advisory committee to engage community interests in Radiation Therapy education.
Refer students to appropriate college resources as necessary.
Participate in professional development activities related to teaching and learning theory and education in Radiation Therapy.
Actively support student success in alignment with college diversity goals, initiatives, and activities.
Maintain American Registry Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Radiation Therapy RT(T) credentials and Washington State Department of Health RT license.
Clinical instructors must adhere to and maintain clinical onboarding requirements including CPR and immunizations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and current ARRT (American Registry Radiological Technologists) credentials, state license, and minimum two years of experience working as a radiation therapist.
Didactic instructors must have flexibility in teaching schedules.
Clinical instructors must have flexibility to meet during scheduled clinic times. The applicant will require the ability to travel to Bellevue College clinical affiliates.
Prior experience in supervising students in a clinical setting.
For clinical onboarding: BLS CPR, immunizations up to date.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to work in a team environment with diverse colleagues, staff, faculty and student population in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior teaching experience at the community or college level, proficiency in evaluation, instruction, and advising, additional modality certifications, and department leadership experience in coordinating department scheduling and quality assurance.

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead Instructor of Technical Services to join our team in Seattle, Washington.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the technical training center, ensuring high-quality instruction and facility readiness.
Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple trades including HVAC/R, electrical systems, and controls
Conduct training of technicians, and trains and supervise a small cadre of support instructors
Support the growth of technical training staff through mentorship, coaching, and performance development initiatives.
Help develop and execute technical training programs, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies, safety standards, and operational goals
Facilitate advanced support and oversight for BAS/EMS systems, including digital/analog I/O, system integration, and programming logic.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HVAC/R, electrical, and controls, including 5+ years in a leadership or director-level role.
Minimum 5 years of experience training technicians in technical skills related to their job requirements.
Deep knowledge of commercial HVACR systems, electrical distribution, and building automation platforms.
Proficiency in BAS/EMS systems, digital and analog I/O, and programming for HVAC and energy systems.
Must hold or have held a valid journeyman or trade license in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical (Washington State or transferable).
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and influence technical strategy.
Experience designing or overseeing technical training programs is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to support field teams and training initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Future advancement in base salary, up to the current maximum of $1,640 per credit, is based upon a combination of years of service accrued at our college and professional development activity.

Assistant professor job in Tacoma, WA
Bates Technical College is launching a new MRI Technology associate degree program in Fall 2025 and we're looking for Part-Time Faculty who are to share their knowledge and help shape the next generation of imaging professionals. This flexible teaching opportunity initially starts as an adjunct teaching faculty which offers up to full-time hours (35 hours/week), with the possibility to transition into a tenure-track position within the first year of the program's growth. Courses are planned for three days a week or fewer, with the option to incorporate hybrid or online teaching. In this role, you'll help design curriculum, build connections with clinical sites, and ensure the program meets ARRT and industry standards. Whether you're looking for a new direction or want to combine teaching with ongoing work in the field, this is a chance to be part of something new, meaningful, and built to meet the industry need for new MRI professionals. Our faculty work up to 214 contract days across four quarters, and the teaching schedule includes 7 weeks off each summer, plus winter and spring breaks, giving you the space to recharge, continue clinical work if you choose, and design a schedule that supports work-life balance and long-term sustainability. If you've ever enjoyed mentoring new techs or training others on the job, you already have the foundation, you don't need decades of experience, just a solid background in MRI and a desire to support students.

* Teach assigned courses and provide high quality instruction in a variety of delivery methods, potentially including face-to-face, web-enhanced, hybrid, and online.
* Provide hands-on learning experiences, integrating industry best practices in MRI technology, patient care, and imaging procedures.
* Design engaging, real-world assignments that reinforce learning outcomes and prepare students for professional practice.
* Document and maintain records of demonstrated student competencies, to ensure eligibility for ARRT examination and licensure in WA state.
* Guide students in understanding safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and ethical considerations in MRI practice.
* Collaborate with healthcare partners to align the curriculum with workforce needs and secure clinical placements.
* Support student exploration and career development in MRI technology and medical imaging.
* Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement to ensure courses reflect evolving industry standards, accreditation requirements, and technological advancements.
* Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, students, and clinical partners.
* Provide students with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through well-structured syllabi and course materials.
* Support student recruitment, retention, completion, and career readiness through effective instruction and mentorship.
* Respond to student questions on a timely basis.
* Provide individual and small group instruction to students in a classroom setting, utilizing available technology.
* Ensure that individual, lab, and small group instruction is based on the best available education practices, meet standards for content, and is relevant to students' career goals.
* Maintain student and curriculum records i.e. student progress and attendance, instructional syllabi, course curriculum and plans, and grades.
* Ensure students are prepared for and can obtain relevant industry credentials and certifications.
* Deliver classroom management to maintain a suitable learning environment by responding appropriately to student conduct/problems and aid in solving them in accordance with college procedures.
* Provide budget management which includes requisition and maintenance control of, and safeguard inventories of equipment and supplies assigned to the program.
Non-Essential/Other Functions
* Actively contribute to and participate in college-wide activities in support of regional accreditation and state and federal requirements.
* Support college student achievement practices to ensure student retention, completion, and progression.
* Participate actively and collaboratively with College Student Services and program advisory committees to support access to employment opportunities for students, and maintain student job placement records.
* Accountable for keeping personal development up-to-date; adding to skills and knowledge through courses that may be available through the Bates Technical College courses, professional development committees, etc.
* Participate actively and collaboratively on committees for college as needed including but not limited to staff recruitment, college councils, etc.
* Additional activities, duties and responsibilities may be added with or without notice to meet college needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
* Associate's degree in related field and active certification/registration/licensure in your area of expertise.
* Five years' relevant experience including at least two years professional/healthcare experience with education, ideally with training or mentoring experience in preparation to provide classroom instruction.
Allowable Substitution
If necessary, alternative combinations of education and experience may be evaluated by Human Resources for comparability.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate's degree in related field and active ARRT MRI Certification, or ability to obtain ARRT MRI credential within 6 months of hire. (moved from minimum)
