The Department of Business and Economics invites applications for a tenure-track AssistantProfessor position to support the Hospitality and Tourism Management major and the broader needs of the department. A primary specialization under Hospitality and Tourism Management can include Event / Entertainment Management, Tourism and Destination Management, Culinary Arts and a secondary specialization in areas such as Accounting, Finance, Technology Management, Information Technology, and Information Systems is preferred, though candidates with expertise in other fields within business or hospitality and tourism management will also be considered. Applicants should clearly indicate both their primary and secondary areas of specialization in the cover letter. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in both their secondary area and the core Hospitality and Tourism Management curriculum.
Responsibilities include developing and teaching undergraduate courses at both introductory and advanced levels, as well as graduate courses; participating in departmental and college committees; collaborating with local business and organizations; advising students; and maintaining an active program of scholarly activity, ideally in collaboration with students and faculty colleagues. The position also involves supporting departmental initiatives such as assessment, program marketing, and other assigned duties. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with industry partners in hospitality, tourism, and technology to develop internships and experiential learning opportunities for students.
Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and hold a Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field in the secondary specialization (advanced ABD candidates will be considered). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered and experiential learning and to integrating the liberal arts curriculum into the Department's professional programs.
**Responsibilities:**
· Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality and tourism management and a secondary specialization.
· Conduct research suitable for the department of business and economics at UVA-Wise.
· Collaborate with the local businesses and organizations.
· Mentor and advise students, supporting their academic and career development.
· Promote the hospitality and tourism program to local students and organizations.
· Engage in service activities within the department and university community.

Jenkins Forensic Center (WUFC) is a state-of-the-art, N.A.M.E.-accredited facility sited on the beautiful James H. Quillen College of Medicine Campus. A complete support staff is in place with five ABMDI-certified medicolegal death investigators, four autopsy technicians, and full administrative support. The Center is responsible for performing approximately 700 forensic examinations a year for the eight counties in upper Northeast Tennessee.
This is a non-tenure track faculty position at the assistantprofessor level in the Department of Pathology at East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine, with a direct report to the Chair of Pathology.
The County Medical Examiner is required by law to investigate all deaths involving a homicide, suspected homicide, suicide, a violent, unnatural, or suspicious death, an unexpected apparent natural death in an adult, sudden unexpected infant and child deaths, deaths believed to represent a threat to public health or safety, and executed prisoners. (Tenn. Code Ann.§ 38-7-106)
Duties Include:
* Perform autopsies for an eight-county population of 512,260, with approximately 25 homicide cases per year. The forensic center also performs autopsies for two affiliated teaching hospitals, approximately 20 cases per year.
* Perform Medical Examiner duties for four of the eight counties served.
* Complete reports within guidelines established by NAME. Maximum 60-day timeframe for completing cases.
As part of regular duties, the successful candidate is expected to:
* Educate residents and medical students.
* Support medical student/resident education and research within the center
* Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to spend 20% effort on scholarly activities and didactic teaching in support of the educational mission of the department of pathology.
* Promote process/quality improvement initiatives within the center.

* Must be able to lift, move, push, and pull 50 lbs. or more to perform forensic duties.

Summary/Objective
The School of Education and Social Sciences at Lees-McRae College invites applications for the position of AssistantProfessor/Instructor of Criminal Justice. This is a full-time, main campus faculty position and the initial appointment year will begin January 2026. At the time of hire, the successful AssistantProfessor applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a related discipline; Masters required for Instructor applicant.
The successful candidate will be required to teach in one or all of the following curriculum areas: Judicial Process, Criminal Law, Global Justice Systems, Probation & Parole, Careers in Criminal Justice, and/or other courses. The successful candidate will also teach a PEAK intensive on a rotating schedule during PEAK Intensive academic calendar schedule, which will be paid as a separate contract.
Essential Functions
Teaching:
* The faculty member will be required to teach 24-credit hours per per academic year in her/his discipline as assigned by the Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide evidence of innovative teaching and curriculum development. Teaching responsibilities include but not limited to: classroom management, student assessment, and assessment of student learning. The faculty member will teach up to an additional 6 credit hours during the PEAK Intensive academic calendar on an every- other year basis.

Advising
* Support student success through mentoring, tutoring, and advising. Faculty serve as advisors to students after the first year with the College.

* The faculty member is expected to continue their professional development and maintain currency in their field through seminars, classes, and scholarship.
* Faculty promote and support undergraduate research opportunities.
Service

Mountain Empire Community College is a comprehensive two-year college serving residents of Lee, Scott, Wise, and Dickenson counties, and the City of Norton. MECC is one of twenty-three colleges in the Virginia Community College System and operates under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Local Advisory Board. The College is financed primarily with state funds, supplemented by contributions from the local jurisdictions.
Mountain Empire Community College invites applications for a pool of adjunct instructors to teach in the Division of Engineering and Industrial Technology. Instructors sought for welding, electrical, mechatronics, HVAC, police science, environmental science, student development, machinist, and CAD. Salary is based on the academic preparation and work experience of the applicant and is determined according to the VCCS Adjunct Pay Schedule.
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom or online environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
