Research Areas of Interest
We seek candidates with research expertise in ultra-high temperature alloys for high-Mach flight and space system applications. The successful candidate is expected to advance fundamental understanding of how alloy design, processing, and characterization control microstructure, chemistry, and performance of UHTAs under extreme environments, with potential applications in aerospace and defense. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:

Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Greets, acknowledges, and interacts with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner
* Fosters children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development by instructing organized activities in accordance with the Kids Academy Schedule
* Prepares and sets up for class and transfers kids to and from programming
* Maintains records of children's attendance, development, and incidents.
* Monitors and interacts with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to the toys, sports equipment, other children, and surroundings
* Utilizes positive behavior management techniques and communicates clearly with parents and team members
* Promotes all Junior programming to increase participation in all Kids & Aquatics programming
* Maintains the Kids Academy and other program areas by following the cleaning checklist and performing assigned tasks. Restocks supplies after each class
* Handles incidents and emergencies in a calm and professional manner

* Completion of all Kids On-Demand Required Learnings prior to first day of work
* First Aid certification, Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification required within the first 60 days of hire

Duties include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in nuclear engineering-related subjects, generating externally funded research, advising graduate students, writing scholarly journal articles, and providing service to the department, college, university, and professional community. Applicants must have a doctorate in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field by the effective date of appointment.
Applicants should be able to contribute to existing courses and research activities in nuclear engineering, as well as to develop new avenues of research and teaching. Specific areas of expertise sought in this search include nuclear science and engineering relevant to aerospace and defense applications but candidates with strong potential to contribute to the three signature capabilities of our department may also be considered. These departmental signature strengths include the following: ensuring the sustainability and future expansion of nuclear power; radiation detection, nuclear security and non-proliferation; and radiological engineering, nuclear chemistry and medicine, and medical physics. About the College
The University of Tennessee Nuclear Engineering Department is part of the Tickle College of Engineering, which has the fastest growing PhD program among the Top 40 public colleges of engineering. The department has a diverse research portfolio and is the largest Nuclear Engineering PhD program in the United States with over 120 PhD students and $15.6M in research expenditures for the 2024-2025 academic year. According to ASEE, it also has the second largest undergraduate program. Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Computer Science at Middle Tennessee State University invites passionate educators and researchers to apply for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#137110) at the rank of assistant or associate professor. As a Carnegie R2 institution, we seek a dynamic individual to inspire students through excellent teaching and build a vigorous, externally funded research program that actively engages undergraduate and graduate students. Required Education
A terminal degree in computer science or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with expertise in quantum computing, cybersecurity, or game design will receive special consideration.
