The Department of Genetics is seeking a board-eligible/certified Clinical Geneticist to join its faculty at the level of AssistantProfessor. The successful candidate will become part of an outstanding team of clinical care providers at the Yale School of Medicine.
Candidate Opportunities:
The Department is committed to offering patients the most comprehensive and cutting-edge clinical genetics services available. We are recognized as a Rare Disease Center of Excellence by the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), as well as a Diagnostic Center of Excellence under the NIH Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN). There are exciting opportunities to participate in clinical research, including gene therapy and new drug trials for genetic diseases for those who are interested.
The faculty appointee will provide outpatient and inpatient genetic consultations and manage patients as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, including other faculty, nurses, genetic counselors, and a dietitian. The appointee will have the opportunity to join our work to evaluate and manage the Connecticut (CT) newborn screening program by providing consultation services and participating in the advisory council. In addition to providing clinical care, the appointee will participate in teaching trainees and be part of dynamic case conferences and grand rounds. The appointee will have opportunities for collaborative or independent research, community engagement, education and awareness efforts and patient advocacy through the UDN, NORD, and other specialized programs. Our structured program of mentorship will maximize professional growth and development around personal interests.
Yale University and Yale New Haven Hospital form a major academic medical center for southern New England with outstanding basic and clinical research programs. The overarching goal of the Department of Genetics is to discover new biology driven by genetics that improves human health through translational science and clinical care. The Department of Genetics provides clinical care in Medical Genetics in the Yale New Haven Health System. Clinical genetics services include inpatient and outpatient consultation and care. We cover the full range of genetic disorders with clinics in general genetics, metabolic genetics, neurogenetics, cardiac genetics, and several other subspecialties. We actively work in collaboration with our state partners on evaluation and management of CT newborn screening program. We have comprehensive clinical laboratory services including on-site cytogenetics and DNA diagnostics services, which provide whole exome/genome testing. The Department sponsors a Medical Genetics Residency program leading to certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics. Admission to the Genetics Residency is directly through the Department.
The Department has a distinguished history of discoveries in medical genetics and has been a global pioneer in using exome sequencing for clinical diagnosis. As part of our commitment to patient care, the Department operates its own state-of-the-art DNA Diagnostic and Cytogenetics Laboratory, offering sequencing and diagnostic services in partnership with the Yale Center for Genome Analysis, one of the largest genome sequencing centers in the world. You will:
Have expertise in Counselor Education & Supervision and teach master s-level counseling courses (e.g., multicultural and diversity issues in counseling, assessment, family therapy, trauma and crisis intervention, practicum, and internship) as well as occasional undergraduate classes.
Teach predominantly in-person at the University s West Haven campus.
Hold a doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision (ABD applicants may be considered; however, degree completion must occur no later than the end of the first academic year of appointment). Degrees from CACREP-accredited programs are preferred.
Hold or be eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Connecticut (or equivalent state licensure).

Position Summary:
All Teaching Faculty members shall: Prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date; respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.); perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources; and other teaching and related duties as outlined on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Working supervisory level.
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Dean or Chair of the department, this AssistantProfessor is expected to teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in the discipline area of study. Additional duties may include evaluating and assessing student learning; providing student support and academic advising; planning and executing program-related events; assisting with program reviews; developing curriculum and periodically evaluating teaching materials; and attending workshops and or conferences to maintain currency in profession and field. The teaching schedule may include both day and evening classes. Course delivery systems may be lecture, hybrid, and/or online.
The Program Coordinator is also expected to recruit, advise and retain students in these areas; select appropriate part-time instructors; schedule the program courses; hire and evaluate faculty; establish and cultivate partnerships with local organizations and employers; arrange and supervise internships; assess and improve the program; and other such duties as may be appropriately assigned to a Program Coordinator in accordance within the contract hours and with regard to the collective bargaining agreement. Release time is based on collective bargaining agreement to perform administrative functions.
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the incumbent is required to carry out the essential duties of attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies; service on assigned committees and task forces; and attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings. These may involve attendance at evening or weekend events.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting a related field.
Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
Four (4) years college teaching experience (96+ credits) OR

Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Starting Salary:

Required Qualifications:
Earned Ph.D. or imminent ABD with expected completion by August 2026 in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences or related field.

Experience teaching at the college or university level particularly in the area of speech-language pathology.
Demonstrated research expertise and productivity in an area related to speech-language pathology and/ or hearing sciences.

Position Summary:
Within the academic area of the college, performs the duties of a part-time faculty member. Example of Job Duties:
Under the supervision of the Dean or designee, the Adjunct shall teach their assigned course(s) in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, perform other related responsibilities, be available at reasonable times to confer with students outside of class, and maintain accurate student records. Each semester shall be for a maximum of sixteen (16) weeks and shall include eighty (80) scheduled days of instruction and evaluation. Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent in subject matter.
Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. Experience with reflective, interactive, culturally responsive pedagogical teaching techniques. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) or more years' teaching-related college-level courses (24+ credits).
Familiarity with the community college experience as a student, or staff.
Experience incorporating technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.
