FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Queens College's Department of Secondary Education and Youth Services seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Art Education , starting spring 2023. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Visual Arts and PreK-12 education in both in-person and online formats. In addition to teaching, position responsibilities include advising students, sharing administrative and supervisory responsibilities in the Visual Arts preK-12 education program, and developing and maintaining a research program in art education. The successful candidate will immediately become the sole program director of an art education program with approximately 120 students.

QUALIFICATIONS
An earned doctorate in Visual Arts education or related field
Experience directing a teacher art education program
* Demonstrated success partnering with museum education
* Record of scholarship, including publications, conference presentations, and related activities
Preference will be given to the candidate who provides evidence of the following :
* Excellence in curriculum and instruction in art teacher preparation, including experience with in-person and online formats and undergraduate and graduate levels
* Innovation and success in directing an art teacher education program
* External funding for teacher education or research, or strong potential for such funding
* Commitment to working collaboratively to improve urban arts education that serves diverse communities
* Experience as a prek-12 teacher, including New York State Visual Arts preK-12 Teaching Credential
