Job Description
The selected candidate will be responsible for: teaching core classes as well as classes within the Marriage, Couples, and Family concentrations (e.g., relationships and sexuality, marriage and couples counseling, advanced marriage and family techniques, etc.); advising graduate students; participating in admissions processes; clinical supervision in the UAB Community Counseling Clinic; and university, local, regional, and/or national service.

Required Qualifications
• Receipt of an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited university or have related doctoral degrees and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
• A clear counselor educator identity
• LMFT credential and LMFT-eligible in Alabama
• Familiarity with CACREP accreditation standards and processes
• Evidence of effective teaching and a minimum of 1 year of supervision experience in Marriage, Couples, and Family counseling
• Evidence of membership in and engagement with professional organizations in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling
• Evidence of professionalism, collegiality, and team orientation
• Experience with technology-assisted instruction

Job Summary




Design, develop and refine the education curriculum through reverse engineering of the role to simplify training and instruction to adult learners
Deliver/facilitate existing or newly developed curriculum during the training period of the apprenticeship program
Provide student mentoring and support throughout the training program and as needed through the one-year apprenticeship adjusting information/support as required per the individual student.
Celebrate the success of the program participants by making learning experience engaging and fun and participating in graduation ceremonies
Partner with the Clinic Operations/Project Management to ensure a successful program, including assisting with the attraction, recruitment, and selection process for program participants
Supervise Market Clinical Admin Supervisors




Primary Responsibilities:




Leads and develops education curriculum for MA apprenticeship program
Delivers educational content in virtual and on-site classroom settings
Supervises market Clinical Admin Supervisors
Provides mentoring and support to the market staff including Clinical Admin Supervisors, MA apprentices and mentors (preceptors) in the clinics

Required Qualifications:




High School diploma and/or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree or a combination of relevant work experience and education
Experience with the Socratic method of instruction and developing adult learning curriculums
Experience working with diverse communities and across social, economic, and cultural differences
Intermediate technology skills




Preferred Qualifications:




MA, LPN, or RN experience, previous education experience
Previous leadership experience
A mentoring mindset with strong empathetic, interpersonal capabilities to see situations through others' perspectives, build trusting relationships, give feedback, and hold the accountability of others when needed

Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700.
