The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a career-track faculty position in veterinary ophthalmology. We have an amazing team that includes a board-certified ophthalmologist, a specialty intern, and two dedicated veterinary technicians, one with a VTS in ophthalmology, both of whom have greater than five years' experience with the ophthalmology service. Duties will include participation in the clinical ophthalmology service in the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), and didactic and clinical instruction of veterinary students. You will have the opportunity to participate in collaborative research/scholarship activities if desired. The ophthalmology service sees a diverse caseload and frequently works closely with the well-established Zoological Medicine, Exotics, and Wildlife team. The VMTH has dedicated small and large animal emergency services for receiving for ophthalmology emergencies after hours. Qualifications include a DVM degree or equivalent and completion of clinical residency training in veterinary ophthalmology. Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) is preferred. However, those qualified to take the ABVO certification examination are encouraged to apply. Eligibility for faculty licensure in the State of Oklahoma is required. The Chief Flight Instructor-Transport Segment position is the key position managing the Professional Pilot Transport Segment from a training and airline preparation perspective as well as the classroom instruction aviation courses, including but not limited to the four Transport Segment courses utilizing the Boeing 737 Max Fixed Based Procedures Trainer. This position manages all aspects of the jet transition and Crew Resources Management (CRM) student capstone course flow and is essential to the airline career track programs to which ASI depends for student placement. This position reports to the Professional Pilot Chair with other reporting responsibilities to the Director of the Aerospace Sciences Institute. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Serves as the main liaison regarding the B737 Max simulator. * Develops course material, simulator session scenarios, airline specific checklists and QRH handbooks and documentation related to the Boeing 737 Max Simulator. * Maintains configuration of the Boeing 737 Max simulator. * Sets flight simulation standards equal to or greater than required by the hiring airlines. * Responsible for conducting and administering Boeing 737 Max simulator sessions and labs. * Accomplish realistic, efficient, and effective simulator training that incorporates airline policies and procedures. * Responsible for maintaining all training documents to ensure that simulator sessions and transport segment courses adhere to the highest level of professionalism and industry guidelines. * Ensure the accuracy of course completion paperwork to be submitted to the Professional Pilot Chair related to AABI compliance and achievement data. * Oversee the selection and training of any simulator instructor pilots. * Ensure all assigned personnel conduct simulator training in a professional and efficient manner which meets or exceeds all industry safety and operational norms. * Ensure that student progress in transport segment courses meets Professional Pilot program's minimum standards based on program goals and AABI accreditation student learning outcomes. * Communicate training goals and account for the progress toward these goals on a regular basis to the Professional Pilot Chair. * Promote and support the Southeastern Oklahoma State University SMS safety program. * Provides management of simulator lab training to include safety, quality of training, student service and student progress toward their degree goals. * Represent Southeastern at industry meetings and conferences relating to Airline pilot hiring standards. * Serve as student advisor, as required. * Maintain proficiency to industry standards. * Ensure operational consistency during co-worker leaves of absence, short or long term. * Provide campus classroom instruction for assigned courses to maintain course load of 9 - 12 credit hours. * Accomplish special projects and other duties, as assigned.
