KEY JOB ELEMENTS: The Nursing Clinical Adjunct is an adjunct clinical faculty member who: Supervises students in clinical practice, internships, observations, field experiences, nursing labs, and other similar course and graduation requirements Counsels or refers students with identified clinical performance problems. Maintains the highest moral and ethical standards as an educator, as a nursing professional, and as a responsible member of the community. Debriefs and evaluates students in clinical practice, observations, and field experiences. Teaches the number of hours and courses stated in the employment contract for the stated time periods. Meets all clinicals and other scheduled responsibilities such as office hours and meetings at the designated time. Articulates course learning outcomes or objectives to ensure student understanding of course learning objectives and expectations. Assists the Lead Clinical Faculty with the creation of the course/clinical syllabus Creates course materials required to deliver course information in an understandable and interesting manner to ensure students are engaged with the course material to facilitate achievement of the course learning outcomes. Adheres to identified office hours and be available to assist students to understand course content and/or clinical scenarios to facilitate the comprehension of materials through one-to-one meeting or in assists students to master course material by being available through “office hours” and or small group sessions REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree with a master's degree in nursing preferred Two years' experience in the clinical specialty area Med Surg experience preferred 3-5 years of bedside experience Membership in a professional association related to area of instruction preferred. Current knowledge in area of clinical practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations. Outstanding conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills) Demonstrated clinical competency and professional standards of practice. Barry University's Anesthesiology Program has been a highly competitive and well-established program in Florida since its inception in 1993. Each year, it admits 90 students per cohort. Essential Functions The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to: * Utilizing face-to-face, online, and blended teaching modalities to facilitate student learning in graduate coursework as assigned by the department chair. * Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for anesthesiology topics. Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees. Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate. Other duties as assigned by the program administrator. * Basic knowledge of technology-mediated platforms for blended learning and computer software. * Engaging in university, community service, and collaborating with other university departments to recruit students in the College of Health and Wellness. Qualifications/Requirements * PhD, MD, or other Doctorate Degree in Nursing or related field, certification to practice as a CRNA or physician, and current APRN/RN or MD license. * A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience is required. * Proven experience in teaching clinical practice and a teaching portfolio in graduate nursing anesthesia education. * Experience in active learning is preferred. * Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred. The Kids Instructor provides best-in-class, educational/fitness-minded programming for our children. They organize, instruct and implement safe, fun and entertaining activities and games for children between the ages of three months to 11 years in the Kids Academy. Kids Instructors may also host parties and other events. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Greets, acknowledges, and interacts with members and guests in a friendly and professional manner * Fosters children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development by instructing organized activities in accordance with the Kids Academy Schedule * Prepares and sets up for class and transfers kids to and from programming * Maintains records of children's attendance, development, and incidents. * Monitors and interacts with children to maintain a safe and healthy environment with respect to the toys, sports equipment, other children, and surroundings * Utilizes positive behavior management techniques and communicates clearly with parents and team members * Promotes all Junior programming to increase participation in all Kids & Aquatics programming * Maintains the Kids Academy and other program areas by following the cleaning checklist and performing assigned tasks.
