Responsibilities:
Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

The Department of Applied Data Science at San José State University is pleased to announce a search for a Tenure-track AssistantProfessor in Applied Data Science beginning in August 2026. CPSY 634- Ethical, Legal, and Professional Issues (3) Course features the roles and responsibilities of Marriage and Family Therapists according to the laws and ethical principles governing practice. Particular emphasis will be given to the ethics codes of major professional associations, family law and statutes covering mental health practice for MFT's in California, and legal mandates pertaining to children in schools.
CPSY 639- Individual and Family Psychopathology (3) Course includes an understanding of individuals and family psychopathology through the examination of a variety of models, with a focus on the interaction of culture, economics and diagnosis. CPSY 684- Couples Therapy (3) This course is an overview of systems theory as applied to intimate dyadic interactions. Although primarily based upon a behavioral model, the major theories of family therapy will be referred to, and multicultural and developmental models will be highlighted. Special emphasis will be placed on practical approaches that are accessible and useful in contemporary settings. Committed couples in all forms will be included such as gay, transgender, married and unmarried.

Drawing instructor wanted to teach art classes at the Michaels store in Salinas, CA!
This is a part-time, permanent position. This is a great opportunity for an artist who would like to be able to offer classes, but does not have their own studio space to do so.
We are looking for instructors who:
-have the ability to paint and draw realistically
-have the ability
to teach
realistic drawing classes
-have the willingness to market their classes and build their own student base
Compensation:
FREE Basics: MAKE A Project Classes:
Scheduled
up to one time per month
Hourly rate plus $3 per student
Advanced Classes
: Drawing and Watercolor Classes:
Hourly rate plus $7 per student for 6 students in attendance or less
Hourly rate plus $10 per student for 7 students in attendance or more
*All schedules to be determined between instructor and Michaels store management.
Duration:
Classes are two hours in length.
The goal of each class is for students to leave with a finished drawing or painting.
Certification:
All Grumbacher art instructors who teach classes at Michaels must become certified through Grumbacher.
