The College of Business seeks applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track AssistantProfessor of Management beginning spring 2026.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching lower and upper level undergraduate management courses and other business courses as assigned. Some of the other areas of responsibility include advising, assessment, accreditation reporting, recruitment and retention. The incumbent will be expected to participate in scholarly activities to include participation in maintaining accreditation for the two and four year programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Teach a range of College of Business Administration lower and upper level undergraduate management courses and other business courses as assigned (e.g., Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Organizational Behavior, International Business & Management, Operations Management, E-Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Marketing Management, etc);
Must be willing to teach on-line, hybrid and face-to-face courses as needed and engage in pursuit of scholarship appropriate to the profession;
Perform administrative duties related to the College of Business Administration program (e.g., advising, recruitment, retention, outreach efforts to stakeholders, track student progress and provide reports on unit operations). Provide career support for students when appropriate (e.g., course load, prerequisites, occupational opportunities, etc.). Assist in college-wide retention activities (e.g., Early Alert), class scheduling, establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships with all student services and instructional programs;
Explore external funding for research and/or program development;
Engage in program, department, college, community, advising, and professional service;
Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of College of Business Administration sponsored activities (e.g. information sessions, graduation ceremonies, new student orientation, faculty/staff meetings, etc.);
Assist with ACBSP accreditation planning, data collecting and preparation; assist with college-wide, department, and state, etc. reporting; assist with updates to the College of Business Administration manuals, website and promotional materials;
All other duties as assigned.

Full-time faculty at UNM-LA are required to teach, engage in service, and engage in professional development activities in accordance with established workload policies. Requirements
Essential Functions include teaching all levels of Indigenous and Native American Studies, including workshops and classes in tribal communities or institutions. Visiting faculty's work will include assisting the department chair with a plan for sustainable growth in students, faculty, courses, and lessons, to include course development in the area of advanced research. Additional tasks will be carried out that will put ILS at the core of all IAIA disciplines by embedding ILS courses, lessons, philosophies, and epistemologies across the IAIA curriculum.
Required Education:
· PREFERRED: doctoral candidate in Native studies or a closely related field.
· REQUIRED: a minimum of a master's degree in Native Studies or a closely related field.
· recent and relevant experience teaching Indigenous and Native American Studies at the college level.
Required Competencies (Skills/Knowledge and Abilities): Applicants need to demonstrate a high level of professional achievement, a proven background in social sciences, and Indigenous research methodologies. A broad knowledge of Indigenous communities, particularly Southwestern Indigenous Peoples, and their epistemologies is a must. ILS teaches courses face-to-face as well as online, therefore knowledge of best practices for both platforms is necessary, along with a sensitivity towards Native Americans and an ability to motivate and teach students from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Position Summary
The expected start date for this position is Fall 2026. Screening of candidates will begin January 2026.
Teaches 30 pay hours per year of assigned classes and performs instructional duties in diverse learning environments. Responsibilities will include designing and preparing course assignments and assessments both in class and online, grading and tracking student work, and assessing student placement. Maintaining scheduled office hours, meeting with students and providing academic advisement to students in the Film and related areas. Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in film production, cinematic arts, or a related field, including at least 18 graduate credits in film production.
Five (5) years experience, in a film production-related field to include two (2) years teaching experience.
Five (5) years experience interfacing with film and television production companies and IATSE local trade unions.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two (2) years experience teaching in a post-secondary or college setting.
Teaching experience in a community college setting.
Five (5) or more years of teaching experience
Experience in curriculum development, online and technology enriched teaching and student advising.
Experience in teacher mentoring and strong record of continuing professional development.
Experience teaching in a multicultural setting.
Verified specialized credentialing in any production/post-production field (e.g., Fisher dolly technician certification, AVID media composer, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will teach 24 hours per academic year. The candidate teaches University Studies courses and per Collective Bargaining can apply for release time to direct the Bachelor of University Studies Program. The faculty provides vision and leadership for the program, particularly in communicating with students, faculty, staff, and administration the importance of a BUS degree, its objectives, and its requirements. The faculty serves as liaison to academic units throughout the University, including undergraduate student support units. The faculty advises prospective BUS majors; participates in recruitment activities, directs, and oversees the Bachelor of University Studies; provides mentorship to NMHU students; researches and implements the latest technologies for instruction. The faculty contributes to the scheduling of co-BUS activities and assessments; assesses BUS performance and maintains records of student majors served and generates annual reports; the faculty participates in department/university activities; maintains active research, teaching and service agenda; and performs other related duties as required. The faculty is required to have a visible presence on campus.
Qualifications
Ph. D in Community Development Studies, Leadership Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Spanish, Bilingual Education, Curriculum and Instruction with sub-specialization in any of the following: Ethnic Studies, Cultural Studies, Women and Gender Studies, or related fields.
Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and teach new interdisciplinary courses that expand or complement existing offerings.

Full-time faculty at UNM-LA are required to teach, engage in service, and engage in professional development activities in accordance with established workload policies. To meet the unique needs of our branch campus, a portion of the teaching load can be reallocated to Service or Professional Development/Activities/Scholarship or administrative duties, in consultation with the Dean and Program Coordinator.
Faculty may have the opportunity to develop courses in the faculty members' specific areas of expertise and interest. Full-time faculty members teach assigned day, evening, and weekend classes, in various modalities, in accordance with established guidelines and policies, as well as participate in student advising, faculty governance committees, other academic and institutional support activities, and supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
All faculty members are expected to remain current in teaching best practices and transformational pedagogy, and to adhere to accepted standards for professionals in education.
