We're hiring a full-time Lead Instructor for our First Coast Technical Academy (FCTA) training center in Seattle, Washington!
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Lead Instructor of Technical Services to join our team in Seattle, Washington.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep, hands-on expertise in commercial HVAC/R systems, electrical infrastructure, and building automation/controls. This leader will be responsible for supervising a multi-faceted FCTA training center as well as teaching technicians and supporting their career growth.
First Coast Technical Academy training facility is located at a Boeing facility. It includes travel up to 25% to support regional teams, training centers, and field operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the technical training center, ensuring high-quality instruction and facility readiness.
Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple trades including HVAC/R, electrical systems, and controls
Conduct training of technicians, and trains and supervise a small cadre of support instructors
Support the growth of technical training staff through mentorship, coaching, and performance development initiatives.
Help develop and execute technical training programs, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies, safety standards, and operational goals
Facilitate advanced support and oversight for BAS/EMS systems, including digital/analog I/O, system integration, and programming logic.
Assist with complex diagnostics, commissioning, and system optimization in the field as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HVAC/R, electrical, and controls, including 5+ years in a leadership or director-level role.
Minimum 5 years of experience training technicians in technical skills related to their job requirements.
Deep knowledge of commercial HVACR systems, electrical distribution, and building automation platforms.
Proficiency in BAS/EMS systems, digital and analog I/O, and programming for HVAC and energy systems.
Must hold or have held a valid journeyman or trade license in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical (Washington State or transferable).
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and influence technical strategy.
Experience designing or overseeing technical training programs is highly desirable.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to support field teams and training initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work involves face-to-face instruction and is performed in a classroom which is adequately heated and ventilated, and in an on-campus outdoor environment, sometimes in rainy conditions. Occasional off-campus student field trips may be expected. Frequent use of computer and exposure to terminal screens in performing work assignments required.

This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Lecture (theory) credits are compensated at $1,090 per credit, which includes scheduled class time and final exam days, in addition to a per credit stipend based on the high demand tier. All guided practice instructional credits for adjunct will be paid with an additional pay factor of 1.33. Future advancement in base salary, up to the current maximum of $1,640 per credit, is based upon a combination of years of service accrued at our college and professional development activity.
Degree Stipend:
Master's or Doctorate degree stipends are paid on a prorated per credit rate.

General Summary:
The Assistant/Associate/Professor will teach assigned courses in the COM curriculum, and report to the Chair of Family Medicine/Osteopathic Principles and Practice.
The Osteopathic Principles and Practice Division is part of the Department of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practice. The department is made up of a vibrant group of faculty and staff dedicated to the integration of osteopathic principles into the fundamentals of medical education and to teaching our next generation of osteopathic physicians' clinical skills and reasoning, osteopathic foundations and techniques, humanism, and preventive medicine. You will find members of the department teaching in those courses it sponsors as well as every systems course in the curriculum. Job Description
Provide instruction to students in the education pathway seeking a degree in K-8 education. Class assignments are primarily in upper division coursework in the BAS-Teacher Education program. Courses in the program are offered in a cohort based, hybrid instructional modality, with classes in the evening, starting at 5pm. In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.
The base salary range for this position will be: AssistantProfessor range: $13,641 - $20,461 per month ($163,692- $245,532 annually), Associate Professor range: $16,487 - $24,730 per month ($197,844 - $296,760 annually), Professor range: $19,820 - $29,729 per month ($237,840 - $356,748 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children's University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).
The successful candidate will lead the development of a new Comprehensive Asthma Program at Seattle Children's Hospital. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates with leadership skills and/or clinical expertise in asthma. The faculty member will work collaboratively to build an inpatient, outpatient and community-based program that integrates clinical care with advocacy and research. This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department. Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite Olympic College campuses, and off-campus assignments, including travel to clinical sites, may be a part of the instructional load.
Adjunct positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. General Description of Work
