Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno's Residence Halls is seeking to hire several Community Desk Attendants for the Spring 2026 semester. The Community Desk Attendant (CDA) is an essential position within the Residence Halls at UNR. This position provides front desk services to all residents, guests, and university staff within our eight residence halls.
CDAs are an integral part in providing a safe and secure living environment within the residence halls while helping build a sense of community and belonging among its residents! CDAs accomplish these initiatives by working shifts at one of our 24/7 customer service front desk locations within the residence halls.
Responsibilities
The CDA responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work to build and support a sense of belonging and community within the residence halls through:
Welcoming all residents, guests, and/or visitors to the residence halls with a greeting and a smile.
Participating in Front Desk and Lobby area Programming planned by desk leadership staff.
Helping create, maintain, and properly take down desk decorations.
Provide core Customer and Front Desk Services, such as:
Answer the front desk phones and assist with any questions or concerns as able. Transfer phone calls to other department staff as appropriate.
Assist guests and visitors with information regarding the residence halls and the broader UNR campus.
Utilize departmental housing software called StarRez to assist residents with the following procedures:
Welcome residents and perform check-ins at the desk.
Issue, track, and return permanent and temporary lockout keys and access cards.
Receive, log, and issue delivered packages to residents.
Check out and return residence hall resources and equipment to residents.
And other duties such as:
Utilize WebCampus to complete general administrative duties, such as completing communication and key logs.
Assist with crises such as fire alarms, power outages, safety and maintenance concerns, and other emergencies. CDAs may also need to direct residents and guests to a safe area away from danger depending on the situation.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings, staff trainings, and individual one-on-ones as determined by the CDA's direct supervisor.
Enforcing Residence Hall policies and confronting/documenting individuals that violate these policies or are seen as a possible concern; Contacting live-in staff and authorities in serious situations or as needed.
Show up to scheduled hours such as weekdays, weekends, and overnight as a part of regularly scheduled shifts (CDAs may be required to work one overnight shift per week).

Health Services Specialist I Full-Time Fifth Street Health Center, Reno, NV General Duties:
Provides direct service in all the health center specific areas including, sexual and reproductive health, abortion, prenatal, family medicine, as appropriate to scope of services and health centers
Provides patients with accurate information regarding Planned Parenthood services, including questions pertaining to contraception, options, and funding sources;
Contributes to achieving health center productivity goals;
Screens financial, medical and social history with correct documentation of pertinent information

Front Office Check-in & Check-out:
Communicates professionally and accurately about services, payment and appointment scheduling.
Provides paperwork to patients and secures payment and insurance information as needed for billing purposes.
Enters accurate patient information into Electronic Practice Management System (EPM)
Makes Health Center appointments, provides information and appropriate referrals
Contacts insurance companies to obtain benefit information and authorization for services
Ensures accuracy of charges and posts charges to EPM for all pay types following established practices and procedures.
Runs end-of-day reports as directed by Center Manager.
Responsible for ensuring all charges are entered same day and all charges must be completed by close of business day.
Handles patient check-out, calculates and collects fees, solicits contributions, schedules future appointments.
Contacts appropriate Health Center staff and billing department personnel as necessary to obtain information needed to complete billing and to resolve errors.
Notifies supervisor of discrepancies or unusual occurrences in daily billing or computer software/hardware.
Responsible for scanning all documents in patients chart at date of service
Responsible for completing all billing tasks and corrections within 72 hours of receipt
Responsible for following all PPMM financial policies and procedures
Prepares charts for next day appointments; completes confirmation calls and chart prep as
needed.
Back Office Lab & Direct Care: Check-in & Check-out
Performs moderately complex lab testing including: Pregnancy tests, STI/HIV testing from blood and urine collection and phlebotomy/ and venipuncture.
Prepares daily patient lab samples for transfer to appropriate lab(s) including maintaining lab logs and running lab report for daily reconciliation.
Completes lab controls as needed.
Checks refrigerator temperatures.
Cleans instruments, exam rooms, lab area, and autoclave as assigned.
Prepares patients for exams and assists in exam room when needed;
Provides pregnancy testing, information and referral, schedules PT clients for follow up family planning or other appropriate services;
Performs lab work and venipuncture;
Prepares examination room with appropriate supplies for examination and cleans room;

Responsibilities
Leading CHR's Front Reception Desk
Maintaining smooth operation of CHR's Front Desk is pivotal to supporting the work of CHR caregivers and leadership in encouraging and uplifting the individuals who are part of our SLA program. This includes:
Consistent performance of key clerical tasks such as
Faxing communications with SRC, Public Guardian's office, pharmacies and other relevant stakeholders as needed
Emailing
Copying
Filing
Updating trackers and project management tools
Opening and closing the office building
Greeting and assisting visitors in the office
Signing for medicine deliveries
Ensuring a clean, organized office environment that is inclusive and welcoming to everyone who walks in the door
Creating and distributing memos when requested

Support CHR Administrative Leadership in collecting, making copies of, and neatly collating the paperwork from each home to assist in timely processing of bimonthly payroll including tracking and record attendance completion of the Daily Work Log each day for houses as another source of checks & balances
Conducting thorough and regular preliminary audits of timesheets and sign in logs for all office and home care personnel to be reviewed by either the Administrator or the Associate Director of Administration
Conducting monthly preliminary comparison audits of monthly sign in sheets to payroll records to identify and standardize corrections made between payroll audits for accurate billing to relevant State and regional agencies. Audits will be reviewed by the Director of Professional Services prior to timely submission
Assist CHR Leadership in regularly updating the CHR Staffing Matrix to forecast future staffing needs

Skills and Experience
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age or older

Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe is looking for a student worker to support front desk operations. This position will support conference operations, perform desk operations, as well as residential duties.
Responsibilities
Work directly with visiting conferences groups and orientations, providing customer service and acting as the point of reference for guests who need assistance or information
Use knowledge of the campus and the nearby venues and businesses to make the most suitable recommendations and respond to complaints and find an appropriate solution
Work directly with visiting conferences group
Assist in preparing residence hall accommodations for conference arrivals & departures with typical duties including delivering linen packets, blankets & pillows, key preparation and auditing, on-duty rotation, damage reports, pulling linens, moving linen carts from one hall to another for pick-up/delivery from our linen vendor and other duties needed to carry out conference operations
Assist with providing security for all guests and residents
Must live in accordance with residence hall policies
Respond to and assist with crises such as fire alarms, power outages, safety and maintenance concerns, and other emergencies
Responsible for checking guests into and out of their room, posting signs, filling out incident reports to document incidents/violations and roster verification checks
Other duties as assigned

*The University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe will compensate CDAs for the length of time served by furnishing a room (potentially with a roommate, depending on building occupancy) and utilities. This position requires 10 hours per week for CDA's to qualify for housing.
Based on conference/event scheduling, there may be a need for CDAs to work an additional 10 paid hours per week. These additional hours may be working on conference related projects or working the front desk of the residence hall/Prim Library. Paid hours will be compensated at the rate of $13 per hour
