DEFINITION: Provide coaching to all participating students in extracurricular athletic activities channeled into healthy pursuits that teach sportsmanship and teamwork and build personal confidence. Enforce the philosophy "Every Player Plays".

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class).
TASKS:

Maintain inventory and responsibility for all equipment, supplies, and uniforms; Follow and enforce applicable school policies and rules, including eligibility rules and AIA or BCI rules at MS level; Ensure the participation of all interested students at MS level; Make and verify arrangements for games, including scheduling of facilities, transportation, officials, etc. at MS Level; Attend league meetings and activities when appropriate; Demonstrates good sportsmanship.

ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY:

A current physical on file; Insurance information on file; Every student must receive a clearance slip before he/she can practice or participate in any competition; Every student must be passing all classes with a C or better; Coaches must send the list of players to all teachers one week before game to check for eligibility (teachers will have a full business day to respond); Coaches must adhere to all eligibility policies; Games will be forfeited if an ineligible student participated.

ADHERENCE TO UNIFORM POLICY AND PROCEDURES:

Uniforms must be checked out to the coach at MS level; Uniforms must be checked in no later than one week after season is over; Uniforms must be given only to those who are eligible for game day (students who may not be eligible for a particular game should not have a uniform and may not wear their jersey during the school day).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work directly with the head coach to develop the growth of the soccer program.
  • Assist in the overall planning and execution of the soccer program.
  • Work with head coach to develop and implement game strategies.
  • Help in the planning and organizing of team practice sessions.
  • Ability to coach team members individually and in groups.
  • Work with head coach to develop and implement team strength and conditioning program.
  • Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes to support the culture of the school and athletic program.
  • Adhere to all state, section, conference and league rules and regulations/policies.
  • Build a positive relationship with all members of the Bentley School community, including students, faculty/staff, administration, parents and alumni.
  • Be a mentor, both in soccer and in life.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school and/or college level.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Desire to become part of the larger school athletic community.

Super Soccer Stars is a year-round sports organization reaching over 100,000 kids across the country.

We are seeking FUN, energetic, early-childhood teachers and coaches to join our Soccer ad/or Multi-Sports program! All training and equipment provided. As a Part-Time Youth Assistant Sports Instructor you will help teach the FUNdamentals to children of all skill levels (ages 12 months - 7 years) and play a crucial role in fostering what will become one of the most memorable experiences in our children's lives.

incorporates a fun, educational curriculum that teaches soccer fundamentals to all skill levels.

Amazing Athletes is the premier, sports-based enrichment and P.E program in the country and teaches basic nutrition, muscle identification 10+ sport activities, including motor development skills.

Coaches will be provided with necessary Personal Protective Equipment and Training to safely run classes with COVID-19 restrictions put in place.

Schedule:

We offer classes Monday through Friday in schools, recreation centers, + fields during the morning and afternoons, along with Saturday and Sunday offerings. You'll typically be scheduled at the same location and times each week for the duration of the season. You provide us your seasonal availability and we will schedule you into classes accordingly.

Salary:

Lead Coaches start at $30 per 45min-60min session and can earn up to $45 for leading classes (Assistants start at $18 per 45-60min class).

Day-to-day Roles and Responsibilities:

Assist/Teach an energetic and motivating class, connect and challenge each child, and help them to accomplish motor development goals and inspire a love of movement and healthy habits in an organized, structured, and fun manner.

Provide individual and group attention to children.

Show up on time to class, physically and mentally prepared (includes commuting time).

Requirements

Able and willing to travel to get to class locations

Availability must include one or more of the following: Weekday Mornings (9 am - 12 pm), Weekday Afternoons (2 pm - 6 pm), Weekend mornings (8:30 am - 2 pm)

Prior experience working with children preferred.

Soccer playing background preferred.

Must be fun, energetic, patient, and attentive
