What Does An Assistant Supervisor Do At AIG

* Support Global Reinsurance Finance (GRF) department during monthly & quarterly financial close periods.
* Managing GRF quarterly closing calendars (US / Intl and GAAP / STAT).
* Tracking of potential issues & concerns (system bugs, delays in posting etc.) for communication to Divisional Controllers (DC) mgmt. during daily status meetings (as primary dept. representative in various US/Intl GAAP/STAT close meetings).
* Daily tracking of non-machine journal entries (NMJE) during close periods with & daily (or twice daily) reporting (to GRF & GRO staff as well as DC mgmt.) of status by applicable grouping (P&L, Balance Sheet etc.).
* Support Deposit Accounting (DAU) and Financial Reporting unit (FRU) managers in the routine functions of the unit.
* Review and analyze impact of journal entries.
* Prepare and present to GRF mgmt. summary of ‘grouped NMJE’ (e.g.
* Eaglestone) to GL to ensure impact meets expectations prior to Group B (reinsurance) financial close.
* Support DAU and FRU is the preparation and submission of quarterly GAAP & STAT analytics for corporate team.
* Serve as primary contact & coordinator for DAU & FRU with audit / compliance teams (SOX, PWC, FC & IAD).
* Serve as primary contact in NY for DAU & FRU staff located in Finance Center (Gurgaon, India

* Assists in unloading and loading of trucks.
* Builds fixtures according to floor plan.

* Is responsible for team members conduct at stores, motels, etc. as they travel.
* Is responsible for keeping expenses to a minimum following department and company guidelines.
