This is a one-year appointment beginning in Fall 2026, with a possibility of renewal for a second year. We are seeking candidates who specialize in colonial and/or post-colonial periods and those who take a transnational or comparative approach in their work. We particularly welcome candidates with research areas including-but not limited to-race and sexuality studies, postcolonial eco-criticism, urban studies, translation theory, new media, and Visual and Performance Studies to foster a strong dialogue across and within our areas of specialization related to Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Africa. The successful candidate should also be prepared to teach a Spanish heritage language course. The teaching load is five courses per year, plus thesis reading. The Department seeks a colleague with dynamic, innovative teaching and a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. Ph.D. preferred but ABD will be considered. Previous teaching experience and native or near native fluency in Spanish required. The salary for this position will range from $65,700 to $73,000 and will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
