Program Management: Plan, organize, and implement a middle school softball program that emphasizes fundamentals, safety, skill-building, and preparation for high school-level competition. Compliance & Eligibility: Ensure all athletes meet academic, behavioral, and eligibility requirements in accordance with OHSAA and Garfield Heights City Schools policies. Practice & Game Preparation: Create structured practice plans focusing on skill development and game readiness; develop game strategies appropriate for middle school athletes. Safety & Conduct: Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment during practices, games, travel, and all team activities. Team Operations: Coordinate team communications, scheduling, equipment inventory, and game-day preparation. Collaboration: Work closely with the high school softball program and athletic department to support smooth progression of athletes through the softball pathway. Community & Family Engagement: Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and the community to encourage participation and support for the program. Professional Growth: Stay current on youth coaching methods, OHSAA rules, and best practices for middle school sports development. Other Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director or school administration.
