What youll be doing
Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, settlement agreements, orders for contract negotiations and court proceedings
Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel under the direction of senior associate attorneys
Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on potential resolutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is readily available for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
Essential Skills and Aptitudes:
Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base.
Outstanding and effective communication and problem-solving skills to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys.
Demonstrated interviewing skills to know which questions to ask to gather more information and to gain a thorough understanding of claims.

Responsibilities:
Design simple to complex Estate Planning packages that honor clients' needs & wishes utilizing Lipman's Westlaw and Wealth Counsel from scratch for personalized and complex estates.
Review and draft comprehensive estate planning packages, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
Advise clients regarding retirement plans, charitable giving, and insurance options.
Discuss plans with clients concerning incapacity, Medicaid planning, and distributing assets.
Conduct initial consultations for estate planning, probate, and Medicaid planning clientele, as necessary.
Must be comfortable with contemporaneously tracking and documenting time electronically.
Attend court hearings and oversee paralegal work on a wide range of probate, guardianship, and trust matters.
Communicate & engage with clients meeting in-person and virtually.
Proofread and write general and complex legal correspondence with clients.
Documentation and process systemization of drafting wills and trusts.
Have a strategic and results-oriented approach to solving Clients' problems and communicating the same to Clients in an approachable and understandable manner.
Qualifications:
Actively licensed in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
Minimum five years of estate planning, probate, and guardianship experience.

As an Associate Attorney you will provide legal advice to clients and prepare for and represent clients at disability hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges. Legal writing at the ALJ and Appeals Council levels is required. Attorneys are responsible for communicating with clients via telephone, mail, and email at all levels of the disability process.
This position is available for candidates who reside in one of the following states: CO, FL, GA, NV, NM, PA, SC, and TX, and will also require travel to hearings in other cities and states.

Such a candidate will have conducted at least 200 Social Security hearings in recent years.
