Business Managers are trusted advisors for the leaders and teams they support. As a member of the Marketing Finance & Business Management (F&BM) team, this role will primarily support the Sports & Entertainment team (S&E) in CCB Marketing. This person will collaborate closely with senior leadership in S&E and the broader team across strategic and administrative responsibilities.
They will be the contact for Finance in managing the budget for the team. They will support senior leadership in sharing performance and progress against priorities with multiple audiences. They will manage deliverables and requirements across Functional partners.
Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong organizational and analytical abilities. Candidates should enjoy creating reports and presentations for decision making and storytelling.
Since the role is part of the F&BM org and supports S&E in Marketing, the person will have the opportunity to work with stakeholders in both organizations. Global Finance & Business Management works to strategically manage capital, drive growth and efficiencies, maintain financial reporting and proactively manage risk.
S&E identifies, negotiates and manages the firm's marque sponsorships such as US Open tennis, Madison Square Garden and Chase Center. The team works with sponsorship partners to deliver benefits to customers and clients to drive business results and support the brand.
Key responsibilities
- Support preparation for business unit reviews and other key senior management meetings. Work with senior leadership to determine timeline, coordinate across contributors and create final materials.
- Work across team to help track metrics on progress against team's priorities and KPIs. Create compelling storytelling to share team's accomplishments with multiple audiences.
- Act as primary contact for Finance. Review monthly reporting for accuracy. Work across team on monthly accruals and questions regarding invoices/payments.
- Communicate process and guide team through financial approval process from writing business cases to establishing POs to completing payment. Help team in navigating the process when they encounter issues.
- Help coordinate annual budget planning across team, working with Finance. Work with colleagues to establish tracking and forecasting throughout year. Advise senior leadership on opportunities and risks.
- Work with senior leadership to manage headcount against plan and determine the team's Real Estate location strategy.
- Act as a primary contact for Controls. Organize key team members to partner with the Controls team to establish and maintain the appropriate Controls infrastructure to meet the current environment and requirements.
- Coordinate across Functional partners such as Finance, Controls, Legal, Compliance, etc. as a central point for S&E. Represent the team in respective internal working groups and forums.
- Project manage and execute initiatives in support of S&E's priorities or address business challenges. Provide support and work closely with team in planning and directing operational and administrative responsibilities.
- Lead or partner in cross-marketing business management projects.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in finance, strategy or project management
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; Ability to create effective reports, spreadsheets and presentations for senior management; Understanding of financial reporting and analytics
- Experience in defining business and use cases, building out roadmaps and driving disciplined execution; Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; diligent
- Strong ability to prioritize effectively; Good time management skills; Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of independence
