* Interprets and implements university and Divinity School policies and procedures for effective student affairs administration; assists in the development of admissions, registration, fellowship competition, and financial aid policies and protocols; manages the administration of the student financial aid accounts and student records; and oversees the maintenance of the appropriate web pages.
* Guides and serves as a resource to the faculty and staff in the Divinity School to resolve student situations arising out of administering student affairs and policies; advises students on administrative, financial, and personal issues; and manages and coordinates registration.
* Advises students on administrative, financial, and personal issues; responds to phone and email inquiries and meets regularly with students to communicate university and divisional requirements; assists with navigation of university offices; provides consultative support to administrators and faculty on University and/or Divinity School policies and procedures to ensure all matters related to degree requirements are adhered to, including matriculation, registration, academic progress and teaching, financial aid, and graduation; counsels graduate students regarding disciplinary and emergency matters, and crisis intervention.

Interpersonal skills. A friendly and outgoing personality is important for these workers because the job requires almost constant interaction with people. 

Math skills. Retail sales workers must have the ability to calculate price totals, discounts, and change owed to customers.

Persistence. A large number of attempted sales may not be successful, so sales workers should not be discouraged easily. They must start each new sales attempt with a positive attitude.

Selling skills. Retail sales workers must be persuasive when interacting with customers. They must clearly and effectively explain the benefits of the merchandise.
