L3Harris is seeking a FPGA Engineer to join our talented team supporting the design and manufacturing of products that provide critical information anytime, anywhere. As an FPGA engineer you will be directly involved in the design, integration, and test of advanced satellite communication links, digital telemetry, signal processing, and encryption technology. Essential Functions:

+ Understand and document requirements for FPGA designs

+ Perform FPGA design: Architecture development, algorithm implementation, synthesizable VHDL code generation

+ Perform FPGA design verification: Testbench development, scripting, VHDL simulation

+ Generate design review and deliverable documentation including: review packages, block diagrams, interface control documents, and test plans/procedures.

+ Conduct design peer reviews at various phases in the development process.

+ Integrate and test the FPGA on the circuit card assembly

Required:

+ Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

+ Experience with VHDL, the FPGA design process, and the tools used to generate the FPGA designs.

Preferred Additional Skills:

+ An active Secret or TS/SCI clearance

+ Experience with DSP theory and implementation

+ Experience with SPI, I2C, 1553B, SpaceWire, XAUI, Serial RapidIO interfaces

+ Experience with Xilinx and Microsemi development tools

+ Self-motivated individual with the ability to work alone and in a development group.

Impact and Opportunity:

The Engineer functions as a technical leader and is required to have a Professional Engineer (PE) license and commensurate work experience. This position will coordinate and assist the Senior Engineer and Project Manager with overall design activities, and project submission schedules, and for additional Quality Assurance and Quality Control duties to help ensure the final products meet the technical requirements and goals of the client.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepares and reviews design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
* Reviews submittals and coordinates project submissions.
* Prepares and reviews specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports.
* Completes inspections and field work assignments as needed.
* Researches, reviews, interprets, and understands written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and applies them to design projects.
* Maintains appropriate documentation of work and project records.
* Possesses knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs.
* Develops technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
* Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.
* Performs work within assigned budgets.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant Engineering field from ABET-accredited school, or related field of study.
* Zero (0) to (3) years job-related experience.
* Licensure/Certification: Engineering in Training (EIT) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads (Surfaces and Templates), and other related software programs preferred.
* Must have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Possess strong oral & written communication skills, and have strong organizational & time management skills
* Must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team.

Role and Scope of Position: Provides support to the department with drafting and design support including the management of drawings and standardized bills of material (BOM's). Will be called upon to perform engineering analysis under the supervision of and review of an engineer.

Essential Functions:
Assists in the development or modification of detailed designs using conventional or computer-aided techniques for incorporation on engineering drawings to support the department.Receives direction from Engineering staff to assist in developing detailed design criteria and final design projects in a timely and efficient manner.Assists in the preparation of conceptual designs and sketches based on field survey, project instructions, and engineering criteria supplied by project/discipline engineers, field or Drafting personnel.Assists in the development of design/drafting standards in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.Assists in providing drafting and design services to Engineering, Operations and field upon request to assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local license or planning boards submittals and other special assignments.Identifies, retrieves and files drawings or documents associated with specific assignments and in accordance with the guidelines of the Document Control System.Assists in the development or updating of indices, lists, schedules, or databases as necessary.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Drafting and design skills sufficient to develop high quality products, both manually and using computer-aided technology Ability to learn and apply appropriate discipline, industry and departmental design/drafting standards, codes, practices, and procedures General knowledge of any of the following: electrical systems and components; mechanical systems and components; civil, structural, and architectural components; land management; survey or cartography

Education:
Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Technology with a specialization in Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical, Survey or Land Management Technology, or the equivalent in combined education and directly related experience
Experience:
A minimum of two years of related design or technical experience is preferred.
