Job Summary
PetSmart's Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences and upholding the company's vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness and maintenance, and pet safety standards as well as the direct care of pets within our store.
Essential Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following and may vary depending on store characteristics and needs:
Responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes conducted in person, over the phone, at the sales register and online.
Greets pet parents and answers their questions throughout the store.
Prepares online orders for pick-up in store and ensures a smooth, positive, pick-up experience.
Responsible for the pet healthcare of store owned pets, which includes feeding, watering and cleaning all pet habitats (bird, reptile, small animal, cricket, and fish aquariums).
Maintains total store cleanliness standards.
Supports the store with weekly price changes and monthly promotional pricing.
Stages and sorts new product to match sales floor planners.
Faces, fills, and recovers products to meet sales floor standards.
Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise, services and live pets.
Administers store owned pet medications as directed by veterinarian
Promotes special events such as adoption weekends, Treats enrollment, charity events, etc.
Ensures a safe environment for our associates, pets, and pet parents.
Responsible for taking immediate action when a sick/injured pet is identified in the store; transport to the vet as needed.
Assists and works in various areas throughout the store (including services) as required. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential physical demands and work environment
Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms: stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
3+ years of experience in B2B marketing, demand generation, or digital campaign execution.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with curiosity and comfort in data-driven decision making.
Experience using marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Outreach) and CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).

General Summary
Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Checks goods received for distribution against purchase orders and/or invoices; maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment, posting weights and shipping charges. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks, and distributes merchandise, products, and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing lines.
Responsibilities
Pick/Sort/Pack/Ship and Receive material for international and domestic shipments
Perform Visual Inspection
Perform lift truck safety inspections
Follow standard work instructions and operating procedures (SWI and SOP)
Order Fulfillment
Processing shipments through both ERP, WMS and TMS
Receiving and general inventory management
Unload/reload freight carriers
Performs additional inventory function
Practice and Participates in continuous process improvement activities
Inventory reconciliation
Housekeeping
Performs additional duties as assigned by supervision or team lead
Safely operate powered industrial vehicles
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 1 year administration, materials planning, manufacturing and/or production experience.
General experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of Excel and understanding of basic formulas
Able to modify existing and create new spreadsheets
Must be able to:
Speak and understand English
Read/follow written and verbal instructions
Work as part of a group or work independently to perform functions accurately
Multi-task
Must have high attention to detail
Must have excellent listening and communication skills
Must have a valid driver's license

The Farhat lab in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Harvard Medical School is a translational lab that combines genomics and informatics to understand and better control drug resistant tuberculosis and other infections. We are particularly interested in bacterial genome wide association, prediction of phenotype from genotype and methodological development around this. We also apply theoretical evolutionary concepts to better understand genetic diversity and population dynamics of bacterial populations in the host. We are seeking an Associate to conduct bioinformatic analysis comparing sequence diversity in sputum verses culture for Mycobacterium tuberculosis ( MTB ) samples. The Associate will be researching how they both correlate with treatment outcome. It is expected that result will be written and presented at lab meetings, resulting in a final submission of a manuscript for publication.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field
Additional Qualifications
Proficiency in programming languages (R, Python, Java). Excellent written and verbal communication.
