Role Description
The Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations, compliance, risk management, and ongoing enhancement of all deposit-related products and services (DDA, Savings, CDs, Cash Management, ACH, Remote Deposit Capture, Wire, Debit Cards, etc.). This role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, UCC, NACHA, Regulation E, Regulation D, Regulation CC, and Mastercard rules while driving efficiency, mitigating risk, and supporting bank growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
Oversee ongoing monitoring and annual risk reviews of Cash Management customer files, including self-evaluations and maintenance of current documentation for limits, frequency, approvals, and risk ratings.
Perform and document quarterly Deposit Operations risk assessments.
Review and resolve exception items, return items, levies, garnishments, and subpoenas in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure full compliance with Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), NACHA Operating Rules, Mastercard rules, Reg E, Reg D, Reg CC, BSA/AML, and all other applicable regulations.
Lead new deposit product creation from concept through implementation, including pricing, feasibility analysis, vendor coordination, and internal communication.
Manage interest rate updates, statement messaging, and BPM (Business Process Management) form creation/updates.
Drive product/service development, implementation, rollout communications, and post-launch monitoring.
Regularly review, update, and create Deposit Operations policies, procedures, and desktop guides.
Deliver annual ACH Rules & Risk Management training to all Deposit Operations staff and provide additional training as needed (new hires, process changes, regulatory updates).
Serve as primary point of contact for internal/external audits and regulatory examinations; compile documentation, samples, and responses in a timely and organized manner.
Identify, assess, and mitigate deposit-related compliance and operational risks across the department.
Supervise, mentor, and develop Deposit Operations staff; foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with Retail, Commercial, IT, Compliance, Risk, and Senior Management on cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of progressive banking experience with at least 5 years in Deposit Operations leadership.
Expert knowledge of UCC Articles 3 & 4, NACHA Operating Rules & Guidelines, Regulation E, Reg CC, Reg D, and Mastercard rules.
Proven experience managing ACH, RDC, Cash Management, Wire, and debit card operations.
Strong background in risk assessment, audit/exam preparation, and policy/procedure development.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead training sessions and communicate complex regulatory topics clearly.
Preferred
AAP, APRP, or NCP accreditation.
Experience with core systems such as Fiserv or CIS.
Familiarity with BPM tools and workflow automation.

WHAT WE ARE HUNGRY FOR
As District Manager you are responsible for maximizing the assigned district's revenue and cash flow growth by efficient use of people, processes and planning. You will be responsible for the execution of an obsessive guest experience that continually exceeds guest expectations. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and vision to their District management staff in our vision to re-establish the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community around the world.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support strategic planning, implementation and follow up initiatives amongst the team of managers in their market.
Responsible for the primary focus on corporate café operations and all aspects of corporate talent, including talent acquisition, retention and development, where applicable.
Offer guidance and mentorship to other members of the operations team in their respective market.
Identifies the training needs of cafe managers and works in conjunction with training team to execute applicable training.
Facilitates one-on-one or classroom training as appropriate and needed with franchisee teams.
Creates a mentoring and supportive environment focused on continuous development of teams.
Supports franchisee owners and their General Managers (GMs) to ensure they have processes and procedures to manage performance, like skills evaluations and assessments and performance management.
Support owners and GMs to ensure they are knowledgeable and aware of the training and development curriculum to ensure their teams have the training necessary to do their jobs to the best of their abilities.
Continually inspects the Region/District's Operational and Guest Service standards; consistently communicates standards to cafe managers and ensures execution at café level.
Proactively meets or exceeds guest experiences; deals promptly with complaints received and puts action plans into place to address service gaps.
Consistent with the Region/Districts plan, ensures cafe managers have specific, focused and well-executed sales and marketing plans.
Evaluates cafe financial progress and performance and helps to develop action plans accordingly.
Ensures adherence to policies and procedures for food and beverage sales and consumption, food safety and health/sanitation.
Ensures that policies and procedures are in compliance with organization's policies and with all local and state regulations.
Utilizes preventive maintenance programs to maintain cafe facilities.
Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as, extended workdays to support business needs.
Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
At least 5-7 years of progressive related experience in high-volume retail, entertainment, hospitality, or restaurant venue is required.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
Thorough knowledge of working Point of Sale (POS) register systems, Toast experience preferred.
Strong Inventory Planning and Management skills required.
P&L capability and sales/marketing skills and abilities.
Flexible, adaptive, upbeat, open and visible management style, with a successful record of accomplishment of managing senior operations leaders across a large geographically decentralized portfolio.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Associate Manager position is to PREPARE FOR MANAGEMENT. The company views all associate managers as potential branch managers. Associate Managers who receive first consideration for promotion are those who excel not only at their own job but understand the positions of CSR and Manager.
In general, the Associate Manager's duty will be to complete as much of the delinquent telephone work as directed by the manager. Associate Managers must possess an abundance of initiative because much of their work is done without direct supervision. Candidate must have a valid driver's license that is not in jeopardy and access to a dependable automobile with liability insurance coverage.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes telephone collection calls to delinquent customers and reports activities on each customer to the branch manager.
Adjusts past-due payments for current slow customers.
Makes written description and appraises value of security and other collateral at customer's residence. Makes written comments regarding the condition of collateral. Makes written recommendations to branch manager for amount and term for loan (outside appraisals.)
Assists in answering telephone, posting customer payments, inputting new and refinanced loans into the loan software system, processing loan applications, and preparing refinance and delinquency mail.
Assist the manager to set-up, plan and delegate field visit activities with the assistant(s). Review and document all field work completed by the assistant manager.
Conducts training development exercises as directed by the Manager and District Supervisor.
Prepares weekly and monthly reports.
Maintains daily tabulation of delinquency report which is generated by the computer.
Provides customer's credit experience to inquiring creditors.
Assists in maintaining standards in all areas of delinquency, loan volume, and growth goals, along with the 10th/20th standards.
It is the branch personnel's responsibility to consistently achieve company production standards, and this may require some late nights until 8:00 PM and Saturday work as directed by the District Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in collections or the finance industry a plus. The Associate Manager must have knowledge of and successful use of computer skills. Willingness to travel and relocate is essential. The Associate Manager must be willing to take the role of the next available Managers position in any location that an opening arises.
A high school diploma or equivalence is required.
