A significant portion of the community consists of individuals who once attended local churches but have since drifted from the faith. Our Sunday morning services follow a blended worship style, combining contemporary Christian songs and traditional hymns with sermons that are relevant, practical, and biblically centered. FBC is affiliated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC), which maintains uniform standards of theology and doctrine among member churches. However, FBC operates independently and is not subject to GARBC governance. Minimum Job Responsibilities Preach and Lead Worship: Develop and deliver weekly sermons and facilitate meaningful worship experiences. Provide devotionals for Wednesday night prayer meetings. Disciple and Support Members: Actively build relationships with church members to disciple, equip, support, and encourage them in their faith. Minister in Crisis: Serve and minister to individuals during times of crisis, offering spiritual and emotional support. Provide Counseling: Offer counseling support to church members as needed. Support Missions: Stay informed about the work of the missions committee and provide advice and encouragement. Manage Finances: Prepare the annual budget and present it to the Advisory Board. Perform Ceremonies: Conduct baptisms, weddings, and funerals. Minimum Qualifications Faith and Character: Demonstrate a clear love for Jesus Christ, reflected in both personal life and ministry work. Education and Ordination: Preferably a Baptist -ordained minister with a Master's in Divinity from a GARBC -accredited university or equivalent. Experience: Meaningful pastoral experience is preferred. Biblical Standards: Exemplify the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1 -10, Titus 1:5 -16, and 1 Peter 5:1 -2. The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Student Pastor to oversee their entire student ministry at the church. The right candidate for this role will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church's overall mission and vision. Recruit, equip, and empower adult and student volunteers to lead small groups, events, and relational ministry. The Engagement Minister advances the mission of Round Lake Christian Camp by connecting it to its ministry partners, providing spiritual leadership to our programming, and shepherding the Round Lake staff. This position will prioritize developing and maintaining church relationships with approximately 100 partner churches and helping them connect with and benefit from Round Lake's ministry. In addition, the Engagement Minister will develop resources, build relationships, and coordinate events to help with the spiritual growth of both the camp and the employees who work here. This position reports directly to the Management Team and collaborates with them on goals, communication strategies, and alignment with the mission, vision, and goals of Round Lake Christian Camp. Compensation Schedule Flexibility is essential as this position involves evenings and weekends to meet with church leaders, attend events, and host development functions. The Engagement Minister will spend time both onsite at camp and offsite visiting churches and ministry partners. The job can be hybrid remote, but the candidate is expected to be on campus when needed. The actual schedule will be coordinated with the management team. Days off may vary depending on weekend or evening ministry commitments. Responsibilities Church Engagement (Approximately 60%) Church engagement will help Round Lake develop deeper relationships with its supporting churches and will encompass three primary tasks.
