The approximate division of responsibilities for this position is 15% research, 25% teaching, 55% extension and outreach, and 5% institutional service. The appointment term is three years, renewable upon satisfactory performance. The home college for the position is the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
The individual in this position is expected to develop a nationally recognized research and outreach program in the economics surrounding agricultural processing, including contract design and industrial organization. The research and outreach program will be expected to address critical issues for Iowa's evolving agricultural processing sector. The individual will maintain one or more active projects under the auspices of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station.
The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate across departments, extension units, and university centers. The research and teaching activities are envisioned to be synergistic with the outreach activities. A natural outcome of these activities will be applied outreach materials targeting producers, agribusiness professionals, and other relevant groups; original research in agricultural economics leading to publications in appropriate refereed journals and other professional outlets; and presentations at professional conferences. The successful candidate will be expected to generate extramural funds to support outreach and research activities. Opportunities will exist to serve on graduate academic plan committees. The candidate will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The teaching assignment is expected to be approximately 2 courses per year.
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:

* Monitors and provides frequent and specific feedback to students regarding the attainment of the learning outcomes and their progress in the course; this includes responding to student emails, phone calls, texts, etc. in a timely manner generally within 48 hours.
* Contributes as a member of the College community by participating in various committees, program orientations, recruitment and retention, enrollment events, advising, registration, attending faculty meetings and faculty committees.

Education and Experience: Must meet minimum experience and education requirements specified by Iowa Valley Community College District. Approval to teach in the assigned area as defined by Department of Education and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Master's degree, and 12 graduate credits in academic discipline for those teaching arts and sciences courses. For persons in vocational-technical education fields without teacher education/experience and degrees, the occupational requirement is 6000 or more hours of recent, practical work experience.
Must have the necessary prior experience to demonstrate expertise in the field to be taught and/or prior teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure that training courses address all levels of students.
* Capable of instructing, demonstrating skills and testing Soldiers in all areas of the 68W Sustainment, EMT, and NREMT Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) level in support of EMT Sustainment Course, as well as CLS courses. All I/Os must meet the minimum Instructor qualifications for course they instruct.
* Comfortable instructing a mixed population of Soldiers, both inexperienced and seasoned, in class sizes not to exceed the instructor /student ratios as directed by the AMEDDC&S.
* Work with the training unit to assist the unit in preparing for training to include equipment use, preparation and clean up.
* Possess presentation skills to train and educate students/ employees on technical material and applications.
* Remain informed of and must maintain proficiency with applicable company products.
* Ability to take inventory and manage consumable items (skins, synthetic blood, etc.) along with the Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) Kits.
* Perform PMCS (daily maintenance) on all equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Full-time faculty may have responsibilities in four areas: teaching, service, scholarship, and
professional development. The amount of time spent in each area is determined on an annual
basis, after discussion between the faculty member and their Program Head, and may vary from
year to year. The workload is based on the needs of the Department and School, consistent
with the university's mission as a teaching institution. While the majority of faculty typically
spend the greatest percentage of their time teaching, there is the opportunity in a given year for
the percentage of time in any category to change.
Teaching responsibilities may include both undergraduate and graduate courses. The number
of courses assigned will consider credentials, program needs, course types, the number of
different preparations, and the number of students served.
Service will typically include participating in and/or taking leadership roles in Purdue Global
department or institution-wide governance committees. Service examples also include course
lead, training and mentoring other faculty, facilitating student-focused organizations or activities,
the evaluation of student portfolios, curriculum work, vacation relief for colleagues, and
leadership in professional organizations. In limited cases, specific service activities may be

The successful candidate will bring a record of teaching excellence and a demonstrated ability to inspire students in and out of the classroom teaching content that includes typography, packaging, information design, UX/UI, and portfolio building. The ideal candidate will be able to bridge the gap between foundation design classes, studio, and graphic design courses, supporting our four majors (Studio, Graphic, Game, and Art Education).
Faculty in the Art department contribute not only through teaching but also through active participation in the department and university service, including participation in faculty meetings, committee work, and student recruitment and retention. We especially value candidates whose creative practice and pedagogical approach demonstrate a commitment to teaching.
Duties or Responsibilities
Teach a range of design courses from freshman to senior undergraduate levels
Participate in curriculum revision and development, as well as department programming and events.
Participate in committee work and other services to the department and the university.
Advise and mentor students.
Maintain substantial creative accomplishments and participation in the field, including scholarship/research/publications, and conferences.
Perform all other related activities as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have an MFA/PhD- in relevant fields, preferably in Graphic Design. Proficiency in design software and technologies relevant to contemporary design practice. Three or more years of teaching experience at the college level. Time spent teaching while pursuing terminal degrees counts accordingly. Demonstrated success in teaching, lecturing, or mentoring students, either in an academic or professional setting, preferably in higher education in design programs A record of professional accomplishment, as demonstrated through a portfolio detailing teaching and practice and an active exhibition and project record. Strong understanding of historical and contemporary issues in art and design. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse populations. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
