Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Department of Kinesiology (********************** has 27 full-time faculty in the sub-disciplines of Applied Neuromechanics, Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Sport & Exercise Psychology, Pedagogical Kinesiology, and Sports Medicine. The department is one of ten departments or programs in the School of Health and Human Sciences (*********************** The doctoral program in Kinesiology was highly ranked in the most recent (2023) National Academy of Kinesiology survey. The department is located in a modern facility with state-of-the-art laboratory space, access to MRI and MicroCT facilities, and strong interdisciplinary ties across health and data sciences. Position Summary
The Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level or tenured faculty position at the AssociateProfessor level with a 100% appointment in the Department.
We are seeking big-data analytics expertise across multiple disciplines of Kinesiology, with priority being given to candidates who can teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomechanics and motor control/learning and mentor student research. We particularly welcome candidates who use advanced quantitative approaches, such as health, sport or performance analytics, wearable technologies, computational modeling, machine learning, and/or large-scale movement/health datasets to study human performance, injury prevention, and/or rehabilitation following injury.
Minimum Qualifications
* Earned Ph.D. in kinesiology, biomechanics, motor behavior, or a closely related discipline.
* Evidence of publishing independent, focused research (assistant level) or a strong record of nationally recognized line of scholarship (associate level).
* Knowledge of data analytic techniques in research and teaching within area of expertise (e.g., biomechanics, motor control, motor learning, physiology, quantitative research methods and statistics).
* Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate instruction.
* Experience with programming software (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB and/or other programming software).
Preferred Qualifications
* Expertise in advanced biomechanical and analytic methods such as motion capture, musculoskeletal modeling, wearable sensors, sport/health informatics, neuromechanics, or machine learning.
* Experience with Python.
* Interest in interdisciplinary collaborations across kinesiology, informatics, computer/data science, athletics, or neuroscience.
* Demonstrated potential for (assistant level) or evidence of (associate level) obtaining external funding.
* Experience supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
* Ability to contribute to innovative curriculum development in biomechanics, motor control/learning, sport/performance analytics and quantitative research methods and statistics.

Family Camp Instructor Cal-Wood Education Center is a 1,200-acre outdoor classroom in the Rocky Mountain foothills, 15 miles northwest of Boulder. We are a non-profit bringing kids and families together with nature driven by outstanding environmental education programming. Cal-Wood is seeking energetic, flexible, hard-working, and motivated applicants for an exciting and rewarding Family Camp Instructor position. Instructors are responsible for providing a fun and active experience for family groups made up of 8 to 10 families, around 40-60 people total per event.
Programs are two-day / one-night, on the weekends throughout the summer. Our staff get to enjoy working and camping with families at national, state, and county parks, with a team of motivated individuals passionate about outdoor activities, natural science, and equity in the outdoors.
Responsibilities:
Work overnight alongside 1-2 other Cal-Wood Family Camp Instructors, at the location of the family camp (Saturday morning - Sunday afternoon)
Assist Family Camp Coordinator with gathering and preparing materials for each event
Support families by instructing them on “how to camp” (help set up tents, camp stoves, prepare meals, etc.)
Ensure families are safe and comfortable camping outside
Teach families about survival skills such as: fire building, shelter building, fishing, archery, trail systems, LNT, etc. (You will be trained on these activities)
Entertain families with various outdoor activities and games
Put away and clean materials and gear used from the camps
Drive company vehicles on and off site for camps
Attend Family Camp Instructor staff training May 24-25 at Cal-Wood Education Center *Cal-Wood can provide lodging accommodations on-site for this training*
Qualifications:
Must have access to a reliable vehicle (preferably 4WD or AWD to drive up/down a steep dirt road)
