Primary Purpose of Position
Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of plant specific nuclear maintenance and technical training programs (Chemistry, Engineering, Maintenance: Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical, and Radiation Protection).
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Drives the clean energy center (CEC) and personnel performance improvement through the use of training. Coordinates, and conducts performance-based maintenance and technical training programs as required by user community in accordance with Constellation's systematic approach to training model, department procedures, and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) Significant Operating Experience Reports and Constellation Nuclear Event Reports (NERs), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Bulletins and Information Notices, CEC design change and backfit information, CEC procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
Prepares trainee examination and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
Support CEC and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects.
Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high- quality training.
Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities.
Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED with 3 years of nuclear technical discipline experience or 5 years of related (applicable discipline instruction) experience OR
Associate's/Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g. chemistry, engineering, health physics, mathematics, physics), education or training with 2 years of related technical discipline experience or 4 years of related (applicable discipline instruction) experience
The requirements as outlined above meet or exceed ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.5.4) Standard, "Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants"
Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Position Summary
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for the position of Associate Professor or Full Professor to be known as Professor of Empire Innovation. Selected candidates will receive support through the SUNY Empire Innovation Program (EIP), which recognizes high-caliber faculty with a proven track record of externally funded research.
We invite prominent leaders in the foundational areas of Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Systems, including computer vision (including video analysis and 3D reconstruction), machine learning (including big data analytics and adversarial machine learning), natural language processing (audio-visual multimodal understanding), autonomous systems (such as driverless cars), human-robot collaboration (focusing on attack modeling, privacy preservation, and safety guarantees), knowledge representation and reasoning, and cognitive science (computational linguistics, philosophy, and computer modeling of neural networks and brains).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentor graduate students, advise students at all levels, and maintain an active research program. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate and lead effectively in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) offers BS degrees in computer science (accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and in computer engineering (accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, a combined 5-year BS- MS program, a minor in computer science, a Certificate in Data-Intensive Computing, and several joint programs (BS in Computer Science/MBA, BS in Computational Physics, BA in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary - Cognitive Science Concentration, BS in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology - CSE concentration), a minor in cybersecurity, and an advanced graduate certificate in cybersecurity as well as MS and PhD programs in Computer Science & Engineering.
The department currently has over 50 tenure-track faculty, 18 teaching faculty, approximately 2,200 undergraduate majors, 1200 masters' and 160 PhD students. Over thirty junior faculty members have been hired since 2010, and we continue expanding. Two members of our faculty currently hold key university leadership positions, and nine members of our faculty are IEEE and/or ACM Fellows. The department is well known for offering an excellent collaborative and nurturing environment for faculty. Recently, a cohort of five junior faculty received the CAREER awards in 2019, setting a national record.
Our faculty members are actively involved in cutting-edge research and successful interdisciplinary programs and centers devoted to biometrics; bioinformatics; biomedical computing; computational and data science and engineering; computer vision and multimedia systems; database systems; document analysis and recognition; programming languages; high-performance computing; cybersecurity; embedded, networked and distributed systems; machine learning and artificial intelligence; connected and autonomous vehicles and sustainable transportation; and theory of computation. Our faculty has excellent publication records over the years. Since 2015, the department has moved up its rank to be among the top 40 on csrankings.org and is among the top 25 in two recent years (2017 and 2019). During the same period, our research expenditure has grown from $4.5 million (for AY 2015-2016) to close to $10.5 million (AY 2023-2024).

Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include teaching applied-music majors and maintaining national/international standing as a performing artist and teacher. Additional duties may include teaching relevant classes in harp performance and/or harp pedagogy, coaching chamber music, or teaching in a secondary area of expertise.
