    Professor and COBRE Director Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North Dakota State University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor, with appointments beginning on or after July 1st, 2025. The appointed individual will be Director of the established NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence on Pancreatic Cancer. Candidates should have a strong record of scholarship, publications, effective written and oral communication skills and should possess good interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to NIH-R01 (or equivalent)-funded applicants with training and research expertise in cancer. Applicants should also have a strong teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, teach and mentor graduate students. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or related fields. Responsibility includes teaching pharmaceutical sciences or pharmacology related courses in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, NDSU School of Pharmacy. A highly competitive salary and a start-up package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be provided. Currently, the department has 14 faculty members, 40 doctoral students and several post-doctoral fellows/research associates. The department participates in two large NIH-funded programs: the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Pancreatic Cancer as well as the Transcend Clinical and Translational Research Development (CTR-D) program. Work as a clinical faculty member within the Anesthesia Department On average, faculty can expect to work 20-25 hours (~2 days) per week during the ‘term time' of their MMSc.Med Ed program. Faculty will resume 100% clinical work during the weeks when the MMSc-Med Ed program is in recess. Faculty can expect to take long days (late call) once a week, and dayshifts for both weekend days 6-12 times a year. The appointment does not stipulate specific anesthesia or surgical specialty case-mix, and it is anticipated that the successful applicants will be exposed to a wide variety of anesthetic care within BIDMC.
