Stanford University associate professor of education job description

**Department of Radiation Oncology**

The Division of Radiation Therapy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University seeks a board eligible or board certified radiation oncologist to join its faculty at the Clinical Assistant, Associate or full Professor level in the Clinician Educator Line. This position will involve general radiation oncology practice and practice building at our outreach site, Stanford Emanuel Radiation Oncology Center (SEROC) in Turlock, CA. The major criterion for appointment in the Clinician Educator line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching. Eligible applicants will possess an M.D., will have completed their residency in an ACGME-accredited program, and have medical licensure in California by the start date.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have strong experience in clinical care and program building at an outpatient cancer center setting. We expect the successful candidate to work with the department to further develop the treatment programs at the Turlock site, while providing clinical care for patients. SEROC is a two full-time physician practice. S/he will work to expand the practice by facilitating referrals, initiating and participating in local tumor boards, and identifying patients for clinical trial participation.

Experience in multi-modality treatment planning (e.g. PET, 4D CT, MRI) and interest in image guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), is desired. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including TrueBeam and Trilogy linear accelerators. A new TrueBeam is slated to replace our Trilogy later this year. Experience in HDR brachytherapy is desired; we are only 1 of 2 sites in CA with a Bravos HDR unit. A new Siemens CT simulator was installed late last year. The physics support is provided by Stanford Physicists. As a faculty member of Stanford Radiation Oncology, the successful candidate will have full access to all Stanford tumor boards and complete support of Stanford faculty chart rounds. In addition, the candidate will be able to refer patients for advanced treatment modalities at our main cancer center in Palo Alto, including Cyberknife, Reflexion BgRT, and our Viewray MRIdian.

Located in California's Central Valley, Turlock is the second largest city in Stanislaus County and provides an excellent cost of living while within reach of the metropolitan San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento, as well as the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Yosemite National Park (two hours away).

Turlock is also optimally located to easily access Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, and Napa Valley.

Stanford is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford also welcomes applications from others who would bring additional dimensions to the University's research, teaching and clinical missions.

Application packets will be reviewed and accepted until the position is filled.

Interested candidates should submit a copy of their curriculum vitae, a brief cover letter, and the names of three references.
