Chief Purpose of this position
We invite candidates to apply for a 12 month, tenure track (research) faculty position in the Occupational Therapy Department, College of Health Professions, at Virginia Commonwealth University. The Occupational Therapy department is seeking a colleague to lead and collaborate in research and teaching, to participate in service to the department and university, and to contribute to leadership in the profession.
Position Responsibilities
* Research: Faculty member will engage in research to enhance knowledge in occupational therapy, including designing and conducting research studies, acquisition of grant funding, overseeing of research projects, and disseminating findings.
* Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the OTD and/or PhD program consistent with areas of knowledge and skill and department need. Teaching responsibilities also include student advisement and research and/or capstone mentorship.
* Service: Faculty member will serve on the departmental, college, and/or university committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g., reviewer, conference organizer.
Required Qualifications
* Earned research doctorate (PhD, ScD)
* Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an occupational therapist in VIrginia
* Junior faculty members will be required to have an established research agenda and a clear potential for external funding that complement and expand existing expertise in the department.
* Senior faculty members will be required to have a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio.
* Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse environment for faculty, staff, and students and a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
