PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of plant specific nuclear operations training programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drives station and personnel performance improvement through the use of training. Coordinates, and conducts performance-based operations RO/NLO training programs as required by user community in accordance with Constellation's TSD model, department procedures, and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports and Constellation's NERs, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, plant design change and backfit information, plant procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
Prepares trainee examination and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
Support station and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, EP duties, and special projects.
Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high-quality training.
Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities.

Primary appointment is within the HDFS department at Penn State's University Park campus, however, responsibilities likely to include instruction and curriculum development for HDFS online offerings through Penn State's World Campus. Within HDFS, the typical instructional load is 3-4 courses/sections per semester (in Fall / Spring) and 2 courses/sections in Summer (12 week) semesters.

Candidates should have superior writing skills, with experience in program/curriculum development strongly preferred. Ideally, applicants will have experience working with both traditional and non-traditional students with diverse backgrounds and career goals, as well as experience instructing in in-person/residential formats as well as online. Primary appointment is within the HDFS department at Penn State's University Park campus, however, responsibilities likely to include instruction and curriculum development for HDFS online offerings through Penn State's World Campus. Within HDFS, the typical instructional load is 3-4 courses/sections per semester (in Fall / Spring) and 2 courses/sections in Summer (12 week) semesters. The semester load, however, is always determined in balance with other assignments related to strategic efforts to enhance and maintain strong HDFS undergraduate programming (e.g., the development of new courses and designing new approaches to existing courses). All HDFS faculty appointments also include regular service to the department (e.g. serving on committees).
The position requires a minimum of a clinically focused Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other related fields or a Doctoral degree in Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, or a related field (e.g., Education, Social Work). Preference to candidates who hold professional licensure (e.g. LPC, LMSW) and two or more years of post-master's experience in practice.

Job Position: Faculty Member - Spring 2026 Location: Shipboard position. Organization Description Established in 1963, the Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) is a 501(c) non-profit organization. In collaboration with academic partner Colorado State University, ISE delivers the Semester at Sea (SAS) program, one of the longest operating higher education study abroad programs. Semester at Sea provides its students a global comparative education through classroom and experiential learning in the field. The Semester at Sea floating campus, the MV World Odyssey, carries around 550 students plus faculty, staff, and others. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of plant specific nuclear operations training programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drives station and personnel performance improvement through the use of training. Coordinates, and conducts performance-based operations RO/NLO training programs as required by user community in accordance with Constellation's TSD model, department procedures, and with proper application of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports and Constellation's NERs, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, plant design change and backfit information, plant procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
Prepares trainee examination and conducts trainee evaluations for classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments, as appropriate and conducts counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates the results, and recommends/develops individualized training programs.
Support station and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, EP duties, and special projects.
Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high-quality training.
Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities.
