The School of Communication and Media at Montclair State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in Film & TV, writer/director specialization. Teaching assignments may include a range of courses in the program, including introductory and intermediate single and multiple camera courses, various levels of writing and story analysis courses and capstone production courses. Candidates should have a strong professional history of professional work as a Film/TV content creator. We are particularly interested in candidates who have professional experience in and can teach to the future of narrative scripted entertainment, including the broad range of episodic content across various distribution platforms. The Film & TV program offers a singular BA degree that allows students to pursue a broad range of interests, including a thesis production pathway. Faculty in Film & TV are expected to contribute to the curricular and co-curricular life of the program and School, including support for student submissions to media festivals and general support for student productions.
