We are looking for skilled nurse educators to join our nursing skills team at Joyce University. This position is located at our Draper, Utah campus and is not remote. This current opening is a full-time position. As a Nursing Faculty member in Skills, you'll provide hands-on, experiential training in our world class, SSH accredited simulation and skills center. The incumbent may be floated to the various areas of the center according to the needs of the department. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team on the leading edge of nursing skills and preparing the next generation of nurses at one of Utah's largest nursing university.
The Joyce Johnson Center of Simulation is packed with industry-leading medical technology including high-fidelity robotic patient mannequins, life-like synthetic cadavers, and realistic clinical environments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in student retention efforts.
Adjunct Instructors are expected to remind students of missed assignments and encourage and maintain participation of all students on your roster and promptly identify and assist “at risk” students, referring these students for appropriate assistance.
Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program and/or develop such when indicated by the Program Manager.
Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
Process course end grades according to policy.
Grade assignments, return graded assignments and relevant feedback to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner.
Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment
Substitute in classes when necessary.
Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc. Maintain communication with Program Manager regarding such activity.
Submit in writing, supply, and equipment needs to Lead Instructor or Program Manager.
Monitor all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities.
Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed.
Maintain professional appearance.
Communicate with the Program Manager and Student Academic Advisors on all issues related to students.
Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
Perform other duties as required.

The Division of Medical Genetics is seeking applications for an Instructor position in the Research Track. We are interested in candidates who are passionate about inherited metabolic disorders, specifically those involving congenital disorders of glycosylation ( CDG ). The Division is seeking candidates with documented research skills and experience combining innovative in vivo and in vitro approaches for investigating pathophysiology and developing gene-based therapies for rare metabolic diseases. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform basic and translational research related to genetic and metabolic disorders. This will include establishing and testing cellular and animal models of genetic diseases, as well as developing novel gene-based therapies. Publishing in major peer-reviewed journals and maintain funding from the NIH and other extramural sources to support the continuation and extension of research is required. Additional responsibilities include providing didactic and bench-side training on how to conduct basic science research to undergraduate and graduate students, junior postdoctoral students, residents, and fellows rotating through the laboratory, and participating in appropriate departmental events such as seminars, retreats, and meetings. Will also provide grants and research activities oversight and participate in governance, service, and community outreach activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish an innovative research program in cardiovascular and skeletal muscle research for inherited metabolic disorders with extramural funding (e.g., NIH , AHA , etc.). Research target areas include cellular, molecular, and physiological muscle biology, metabolism, structure, gene- and small molecule-based therapies, etc. Applicants with research experience in dilated cardiomyopathy ( DCM ) and skeletal myopathy related to congenital disorders of glycosylation are particularly encouraged to apply.
Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related disciplines with a strong academic record; documented participation in robust laboratory-based research programs and a track record of acquiring fellowships and funding; and at least 5 years of post-doctoral training in Biochemical Genetics.

The Abdominal Imaging program at the University of Utah offers access to cutting-edge CT, MRI , ultrasound (including low- and high-risk OB US), and fluoroscopy equipment, as well as image-guided interventional procedures. The section provides clinical services at the , (a premier cancer center designated by the NCI ), and multiple outpatient centers throughout the Wasatch Front. The section comprises 11 faculty members (2022) and adjunct faculty, along with three fellows. The department is renowned for its educational publications, which are distributed internationally.
