The part-time faculty (instructor) shall perform duties and responsibilities in collaboration with the Program Chair, Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Preceptors. The faculty (instructor) shall perform duties in compliance and adhere to JRCERT accreditation standards. Other responsibilities include participation in assessing student learning outcomes; developing, revising, and implementing curriculum; maintaining current knowledge and skills in the area of assignment; building collaborative relationships within the BC community and the radiation oncology community at large; demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and fostering a positive, caring learning environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a part-time adjunct faculty in the Radiation Therapy Program, the individual is responsible for teaching, observing, and evaluating in didactic and/or clinical settings.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Adjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
Quarterly remuneration for 5-credit lecture class is $6,418.75- $ 7,824.65
Compensation is prorated based on type and duration of assignments.
Individuals newly hired to Adjunct Professor group at the college are placed at the minimum rate per union bargaining agreement. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.
Generous benefits package for eligible employees is offered through Washington State plans that includes multiple medical, dental, life and disability coverage choices for employees and dependents; choices of retirement and deferred compensation plans; paid personal leave plan; transit program, reduced tuition, employee discounts and memberships, etc. Eligible employees are faculty who work a combined load of at least 50% at Bellevue College and other Washington State public institutions of higher education for two consecutive quarters are eligible for health and dental insurance at the start of the second consecutive quarter.

About the Department
The Radiation Therapy program at Bellevue College (BC) offers personalized and intensive instruction to form a solid foundation for a rewarding career in this field. Bellevue College has the only Radiation Therapy program in Washington State and is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program is comprised of faculty and staff who oversee didactic and clinical instruction which is aligned with a professional curriculum published by associated Radiation Therapy professional societies. Once a student graduates from the program, they will be eligible to take the national certification board exam and apply for a health care license to practice.
Essential Functions
Promote teaching and learning in radiation therapy and clinical setting.
Complete student learning outcomes assessment and provide students with timely written and verbal feedback.
May participate in curriculum revisions with the integration of the latest research aimed at continuous improvement and new course development.
Utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies and innovative techniques including the integration of technology and the latest research to assist students in the achievement of learning outcomes and assessment of learning.
Participate in work with the advisory committee to engage community interests in Radiation Therapy education.
Refer students to appropriate college resources as necessary.
Participate in professional development activities related to teaching and learning theory and education in Radiation Therapy.
Actively support student success in alignment with college diversity goals, initiatives, and activities.
Maintain American Registry Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Radiation Therapy RT(T) credentials and Washington State Department of Health RT license.
Clinical instructors must adhere to and maintain clinical onboarding requirements including CPR and immunizations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and current ARRT (American Registry Radiological Technologists) credentials, state license, and minimum two years of experience working as a radiation therapist.
Didactic instructors must have flexibility in teaching schedules.
Clinical instructors must have flexibility to meet during scheduled clinic times. The applicant will require the ability to travel to Bellevue College clinical affiliates.
Prior experience in supervising students in a clinical setting.
For clinical onboarding: BLS CPR, immunizations up to date.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to work in a team environment with diverse colleagues, staff, faculty and student population in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
Preferred Qualifications

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor range: $13,641 - $20,461 per month ($163,692- $245,532 annually), AssociateProfessor range: $16,487 - $24,730 per month ($197,844 - $296,760 annually), Professor range: $19,820 - $29,729 per month ($237,840 - $356,748 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children's University Medical Group practice plan. The successful candidate will lead the development of a new Comprehensive Asthma Program at Seattle Children's Hospital. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, candidates with leadership skills and/or clinical expertise in asthma. The faculty member will work collaboratively to build an inpatient, outpatient and community-based program that integrates clinical care with advocacy and research. Provide instruction to students in the education pathway seeking a degree in K-8 education. Class assignments are primarily in upper division coursework in the BAS-Teacher Education program. This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. Compensation
Placement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience. The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B.

The Evergreen State College seeks a broadly trained mycologist with a transdisciplinary understanding of fungi to teach one or more offerings within our undergraduate Mycology Certificate program: Topics in Mycology (fall 2026) and/or Fungi for Human Health and the Environment (Spring 2026).
We invite candidates who situate the scientific study of mycology within broader ecological, social, cultural, or philosophical contexts. The successful candidate for Topics in Mycology will introduce students to a specialized area of mycology within their expertise (including but not limited to topics in pathology, genomics, or conservation). The successful candidate for Fungi for Human Health and the Environment will help students deepen their understanding fungi not only as biological entities but also as key contributors to social, ecological, and creative systems, drawing on insights from the social sciences, environmental sciences, arts, or humanities.
The spring 2026 course, Topics in Mycology, is a 4-credit online offering. The class meets synchronously Wednesday evenings with an option for up to half of the instruction to be delivered asynchronously using a Canvas learning management system.
The fall 2026 class, Fungi for Human Health and the Environment, is an 8-credit, team-taught, hybrid offering with some in-person labs and workshops (on the Olympia Campus) in addition to synchronous and asynchronous online instruction. The class meets Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
We invite candidates who situate the scientific study of mycology within broader ecological, social, cultural or philosophical contexts. The successful candidate will introduce students to a specialized area of mycology-such as phytopathology or industrial mycology-while deepening their understanding fungi not only as biological entities but as key contributors to social, ecological, and creative systems, drawing on insights from the social sciences, environmental sciences, arts, or humanities.
We seek an engaging teacher/scholar with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and prior academic and/or professional experience in the field of mycology. Our new colleague must be able to develop curriculum and work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and content relevance for diverse learners.

Job Expectations
Curriculum in the school of Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) is based on undergraduate certificates and bachelor's degree completion curriculum comprised of 4-credit and 8-credit offerings, and capstone work that may include internships or individual study. Courses and programs are offered online, in-person, or in hybrid formats. All curriculum includes synchronous meetings for at least half of the class instruction time. Synchronous sessions occur in the evenings or on weekends (Pacific Time). Faculty development opportunities are provided to help faculty increase skills in online teaching and curriculum design.
Evergreen uses narrative evaluations in lieu of grades, and faculty are generally responsible for evaluating 25 students/quarter in each class. Faculty support students with informal advising as they reflect on their learning processes and develop their own areas of academic concentration.
Our pedagogy centers on collaborative learning communities. We are interested in helping students develop interdisciplinary approaches to critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration across the curriculum. Because over 80% of our students come from underserved and marginalized groups, we are particularly invested in approaches to teaching that emphasize diversity and equity, that provide opportunities for challenge and growth, and that foster a learning environment where all are welcome, and all can learn from each other.
This is an adjunct faculty position and not eligible for continuing appointment. All requirements for the position must be completed at the time of hire. Salary for all positions is based on experience and degrees (see Salary Grid for more information). We do not offer relocation expenses for our adjunct faculty positions.

Minimum Qualifications
* Master's of Science Degree (Botany, Biology, Mycology or related field)
* Prior teaching and/or mentoring experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters' Degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Health, Psychology, Environmental Humanities or a related field.
* PhD or terminal degree in any field.
* Substantial transdisciplinary study of mycology outside of biological science such as training in ethnomycology, environmental philosophy, political ecology, food or environmental justice, science journalism, or studies of fungi in history, literature, religion, or media.
* Evidence of potential to successfully work with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Prior experience teaching/presenting in an online environment.
